About to order some new coil packs and a timing belt kit.

I found some super cheap coil packs on ebay with LIFETIME WARRANTY!
(i am not sure if posting ebay links is allowed but i'll do it for now and remove them if i get screamed at.

$134.99 for 6 new coil packs

    Ebay Listing!!

supposedly the company that made these is called Prenco in Canada(www.prencocorp.com). is there any reason i shouldn't buy these? could they be weaker than OEM? not too sure what i should be expecting here.

finally, what is the number one recommended timing belt kit? i am considering the Blauparts package:

    Blauparts Enhanced Timing Belt Kit

Let me know guys, i am about to place my orders. thanks!

i have used OEM coilpacks if your interested..they are completely functional. I swapped them out with new ones cause I thought they were the problem, but they ended up being fine. I wanna keep 1 or 2 as extra in case one of mine go out. But I have 4 for sale. PM me if your interested.

Re: CHEAP CHEAP coil packs... legit? and timing belt question..

i figured... i was thinking to myself... what makes OEM coil packs better than cheap aftermarket. even if these things die every 3 months they can be replaced for free for life.

still my ONLY concern is the strength of the spark output, knowing that factory S4 coil packs are some of the weaker coil packs audi ever produced (read A6 ones were more powerful), these being even weaker could have some detrimental effects on driveability with a regular gap at high boost levels.

i am about to hit that buy it now button... anyone willing to stop me?

The reason why i am replacing my coil packs:
I was getting severe misfires at high RPM and 17psi of boost at a gap of 0.028". I dropped the gap to .025 and all the misfires dissapeared. I am pretty sure .025 with NGK BKR6Es (coppers) is too low of a gap and i am feeling the lack of power in the low end now. regardless, this is not the point of the thread. i want to replace my 116,000 mile factory coil packs in preparation for stage 3, i figure they are getting weak and could shit the bed anyday now.

i've been rocking those exact coilpacks for a solid 6 months. Everything is great with my car, no misfires. I highly recommend.

FCP Groton is a good company with fast shipping and excellent customer service, don't know anything about the coilpack quality though.

I went ahead and ordered them. We will see how they do. If that doesn't take car of my misfires then the only thing that could still be causing my intermittent misfires at idle would be the fuel injectors or ICMs.
