B5 uprights on a B6

Ok I looked best I can (I'm sure someone will proove me wrong) but after my B5 RS4 body Sedan was killed last week I plan on moving over to a B6 and want to see what I can keep from my old car before I sell the parts.

I have curentley installed RS4 B5 ally uprights with matching brakes, and I want to know will these fit the B6 or not. I know I will have to change the shock and spring but It I can use my upright that would be a bonus.

Spindles, or knuckles would would be another name for them, Its what the control arms attach too.

GOing off of your sig you can keep the brakes (rotors, calipers and lines), wheels, FMIC but you will need new piping, and the K04. Maybe the DV and hoses too.

Will be doing a B7 RS4 conversion on her so B7 FMIC will be the call plus the FMIC was stolen.

If you have not bought the car yet and you plan on doing the B7 RS4 widebody conversion, why not start with a B7A4 instead of a B6A4?

there was a az member from norway that converted his b6 into a b7 rs4. w/ the b6.. doc's convert would probably go a lot smoother rather then having to relearn the conversion on the b7 body/chassis.

Second, I am fairly sure you can use your uprights and brakes. The B6 A4 spindles are the same as the B5 S4, which can be swapped into a B5 A4 while still using the B5 A4 upper and lower control arms (I'm doing that right now on a friend's B5 A4). I have my stock B6 A4 spindles with B5 S4 calipers (bolted right on) on my Avant.

The B5 S4 and A4 rear suspension is different than the B6 A4 and only compatible between those two model vehicles.

That’s what I wanted to here and I'm shocked a lot more B5 guys looking to put S4 brakes on have not done this so just to make clear all the control arms will swap with the upright?

The B6 is like $8000 for a 1.8TQ Sport here and B7 are $26k+ so this is by far the cheaper option and the B7 RS4 parts are less than half price of a B5 RS4 so it's a no brainer really.

On another not if they had just taken there sound system and what else they wanted I could have fixed her back up but this well I need say no more.

I saw the B6 to B7 RS4 thread which was one of the main reasons for me to do this plus I get to move a lot of costly parts over like the B5 RS4 brakes front and rear.

I am fairly sure that is all that needs to be done. My friend did all the research and in the end he only bought the spindle (upright) along with the brakes. Everything else (upper & lower control arms) we're using off his 1998 B5 A4 2.8L.

Upon looking at the parts he has and looking at my car it appears that everything is the same yet most online retailers list the front control arms for a B5 rather than both a B5 and B6 A4. That confuses me.

Perhaps someone with an ETKA can check part numbers across both platforms to confirm my suspicions?
