    RS4 pricing

Hey guys I'm negotiating a price of a brand new Daytona grey 08' RS4 with black interior and Ti package.

    2 questions:

    1) Isn't the sunshades an option? I don't want them and he's insisting it's part of the premium package...

    2) He's taking 10K off sticker and willing to do 0.9 for 48 months with 20K down, bringing my monthly payment s to about $800 or so a month.
How does this sound? I'm trying to get the best deal I can... what did you RS4 guys get for deals? Does this sound decent?

    Thanks,

    ~Josh

    Re: RS4 pricing

all that matters is the negotiated price for the car. What is it??? Monthly payments are a great way to mask a bad deal...just focus on what you get the car for. 10k off list sounds decent though...08 S4 sales around 6k off list aren't uncommon right now. That car with premium would be about 72k including freight. Are you saying they're offering it for 62?

p.s. sunshades come with the $4000 Premium Package (which is the NAV Package really)

Because I perfer 4 doors and 8000 RPMs... IF anything I'd wait for the RS5, but like I said, 4 doors is a requirement for me.
The final price is 64xxx, and its premium with the Titanium package and I'm having them swap out the piano black for carbon. less than 50 miles, with shipping included. all for about 65K....

I gotta agree.. Find a car payment caluclator link and work the numbers backwords. Put the payment in, the down payment, the sales price, and the term and see what rate they are really charging you.

My wife and i typically finance through our credit union because we know exactly what we are getting. We have the dealer give us the final price including all fees, we put down our down payment and we finance the difference through our lender not theirs.. Its pretty much the only way to ensure that we are getting the best deal available.

On the few occasions that i have gone through a dealer for financing i was not affraid to bring my HP Financial Calc with me, and put the sales rep on blast when they tried to pull a fast one..

    Re: RS4 pricing

well if they're charging you 65,000, they're really only giving you 7000 off list.

There's a dealer in New Jersey (huge dealer) called Riverside Audi. They're selling cars on ebay cheap. They had an S4 brand new 2008 stock that went for under $50,000 loaded. The car was about 57,000 list price. Had about 60 miles on it.

I reckon you should call them to see what they have on hand.

I'd be looking to buy used personally...most guys who buy RS4s barely drive them. You can probably find a 2008 with low miles for 55,000 somewhere...just have to be patient.

In the middle of a recession and a stock market crash, I'd say you should play HARDBALL with whoever you're buying from because trust me...there's a good chance they're desperate to sell. That 2008 RS4 is an amazing car, but they haven't built one in a while...they have lots of old stock that dealers are trying to blow out. Offer $61,500 or walk...just be patient!

Well the list price is 74xxx, so it is kind of 10k off, but your right otherwise. I'll negotiate some more. I think it's a little more expensive due to the Ti package, in which i absolutely want, thats why I'm looking at new as opposed to used, not too many Ti RS's for sale with the options I'm lookin for. I'll aim at 62K. I bet he'll budge some.

    Re: RS4 pricing

Got him down to 63K list with 20K down and 0.9% financing for 60 mo. They are also giving me 21K for my 05.5 B7 S4 with 70K on it which I'm actually pleased with for once. This will be the final deal if I go through with it. I will be looking at $750 a month or so. I think it's a pretty decent deal myself....

    Re: RS4 pricing

Let me understand a bit more. Are you putting 20k cash down and getting the car for 43k? What is the situation with your S4? Where does that 21k go? Is it not payed off yet?

$750 a month for how many years?

I owe almost 20 on the car still so I have to pay off that loan. Over 60 months, but at 0.9% thats not bad. I may opt for 48, just to get it out of the way a little quicker.

Just as an FYI - the Ti package for any Audi is only an extra $500...

I tend to agree with the previous comments - wait, search, buy used (cpo'd).

I want new, more than one reason, but it just makes the most sense considering it will be a company car... I looked up the Ti package, it's actually listed at 800$.

All the same...you know the front grill is the only difference (considering you'll have the RS4's rims and CF interior).

Either way, RS4 is a sick car. Good for you.....can your company get one for me too?

Front grille, black trim instead of wood or CF, titanium colored mirrors and wheels, black exhaust tips, and no chrome trim.

Haha I wish I could get everyone on here a RS4, every Audi enthusiast should have one in my mind!

Now back to the deal? yay, or should I renegotiate?

    Re: RS4 pricing

Sounds like a good deal to me but read the fine print in the financing and the sales contract. You can easily get hit with flat fees hidden in there if you don't read closely. Your payment sounds too high if you got .9% for 60 months and you're putting $20,000 in cash down.

    Re: RS4 pricing

I'm no expert, but aren't you just paying more in the long run?

The length of your contract shouldn't be going up as your monthly payments are going down.

In your first quote you have higher monthly payments for 48 months, but on your second quote you have lower monthly payments but for 60 months though.

    $800 x 48months = $38,400
    $750 x 60months = $45,000

Forgive me if I'm wrong though.

if you r getting .9% financing, stretch it out and take the 60. you can make more money in other investments.

    Re: RS4 pricing

Once again, RAudi is correct! .

9% financing is like someone giving you free money; take it! In this economy play hardball on the price...they want your money more than they want their RS4.

If you qualify for Audi's top tier credit you shouldn't need a large down payment, either. Personally, I would put as little down as possible & invest the rest. Even in this market, you can make at least 3.5% safely.
Nevertheless, it's your money...if you can afford the price point what ever makes happiest is right!
    Good luck!

    Re: RS4 pricing

Thanks guys.... Ya I'm gonna do the 0.9 for 60, with 20K down and a final sticker price of 65K with transportation fees, getting 20 for my car, Audi's service plan, and registration fees all included in the 65K price. So it may not be 62K, but registration is almost 1K along with transportation is another 1K. PLus I get Audi's service plan thrown in and they will be giving me 20 for my car too.

    Re: RS4 pricing

So what am I missing here? You said you have to pay off your existing loan on your S4 of almost 20K. You also said they are giving you 21K for that car. Therefore you're really only putting 1K or so down correct? In other words, they are taking your car and giving you enough to pay it off with a little left over. So when you say you're putting 20K down, that's not really the case right? Just curious as I think the way you worded that was a little confusing at first. Anyway I think $65 seems fair. Best of luck and enjoy.

No at all ok.. heres the scoop: I spoke with the guy this morning, and this is the final deal, i'm gonna let him know next week.

Trading in my S4 for 20,000$, paying off my 19K loan. S4 is gone.
Taking 20K of different money and putting it down on the car, which will be 65K, down to 45K. I will be paying about 760$ a month over 60mo. Car transportation from Cali, Audi service plan, and registration fees are all included in the 65K price. The only other fee I will have to pay is 5% sales tax @ roughly $3,250. Not a bad deal ey>?

    Re: RS4 pricing

I think 21k for your 05.5 is a little bit of a rapejob.

Is it just me? My friend bought a B6 05 for 31,000 last september. Now they sell for 24 ish wherever I look....and that's a B6. You've got a B7? 70,000 miles aside...seems like there would be someone somewhere who would give you more for it.

I still think you've got them by the balls. no offense to the car you're buying (I love it), but it's OLD...as in a 4 year old model launched in Europe in 2005...and it was probably built 5 months ago. They're desperate to get off it. They'll take a loss if they can sell it to you as cash is worth way more to any car dealer right now than a V8 gas hog that they can't move. Dealers are struggling to sell cars because nobody is getting approved for financing with the credit market being so tight.

p.s. have you been approved for financing yet? It's apparently a 1 in 5 shot, even if you're pretty solid credit wise.

Yes, it will be financed through my company, who will be paying 500 a month in car incentives, I have to personally cover the rest. I should have no problem securing the loan, the company's credit is perfect. As for the trade-in, they originally offered 14K... rediculous. I did get rear-ended at a stoplight in March, but it was under 5 mph, and only the bumper cover got damaged... so their agruement is that they can't certify it now since it isn't a "clean" title, which as they know is BS, because I brought it to them to be repaired. Your are definitly right about them being desperate though, so I'm sure it will all work out in my favor.

    Re: RS4 pricing

With your company paying for more than half your monthly rs4, sell the s4 yourself, you must be able to afford to do this or you wouldn't have $20k sitting around and must make enough because of being in a company that pays a portion (nice - I'm self employed so I guess mine does too but it just doesn't feel the same as some other company paying ;)

So, make the deal without the trade-in, the deal on the rs4 should be separate anyway in terms of negotiating the sale price and extras included, etc. Your trade isn't worth enough to offset the sales tax credit either but check on your RI laws, some states get you on both ends by not allowing trade in amount sales tax credit.

The trade we just made netted the same as most likely private selling price we'd get because trading saved me over $5000 in tax, and then I got an offer to buy the thing from us for the same net amount. We wanted the S4 but might have waited or bought used later. The .9 apr right now was too tempting. Same as above, 60 months, approved with NO down payment, in fact I had such a screwed up deal on the trade that I rolled in over $10k onto the .9 loan. Of course it helped that we got $7000 off msrp.

IF you need to have the new car rather than cpo'd, then it sounds like a good enough deal that you aren't going to hear in two months that you could have saved thousands more, maybe a tiny bit, but you also have to realize how many of the rs4's are out there in the build you want, etc.

Ours is not the "ideal" color however our ideal color choice did not exist as a new car and it was obviously too late to order and ordering would have cost $7000 plus a different apr situation, not a place I plan to be in ever again mind you! Even if I pay 10k to paint it the color I'd love, I'm still ahead money wise but the situation is we wanted a 4.2 S4 Avant in manual, etc. This car will not be something we can order again, ever. So there's that.

Sell the 2005.5 yourself. It isn't costing you much to sit on it I'm sure and one would think you can sell it for at least $3000 more than their offer. What color is the old one? Look around real quick to see how many are out there like it and what the demand is. You know a fun color will sell - like that funky periwinkle blue. We drove one, thought about it for say - day - and then saw it driving with a paper plate a few days later....gone!

Yeah, that's "funny" as hell! He should have traded it at a dealer that didn't do the work. It's the same song and dance as "THIS (car model) holds it value better than ...blah, blah, blah... .... a year later, "oh gosh,. the market this, the auction prices that..." screw them all that sing that whole thing. Not all of them are like that but it's the industry in general.

I think you did pretty well. Shipping across country is $1200-1500. They gave you .9 for 60 months. So what if it's a five year old design? I would rather have an RS4 than an S5. Newer isn't always better. The way people were ranting I'm surprised no one suggested you buy an M3 instead!

    Re: RS4 pricing

The A5 across the street is ok to look at, not awesome, but not terrible. Whereas the current RS4 is just lovely and tough at the same time.

Engineering often progresses for the better but not necessarily design.... part of the same reason we got this last version of the S4 Avant for the US.

M3's are very sweet however I really do prefer the cat like clawing the rs4 imparts on corners. It's just plain awesome.

    Re: RS4 pricing

Well... I was in the middle of finalizing the deal with my dealer when they told me that I could not combine 0.9 and the 10K off...... Way to fucking tell me now! I could only do one or the other..... POS sales reps, they can be so god damn slimey sometimes. So, in the end, I can't make my finances meet with this deal so I told em no. I'm pretty pissed but I guess this wasn't ment to be... BUT, on a side note, I could have sworn people are buying RS's with both 7-10K off and the 0.9% financing. If you RS owners could maybe give me some of the deals you got, maybe I could use it as some leverage.....
Thanks and sorry for the harsh language, im just pissed.

That's the norm for AFS offers, it's either low rate or money off. He should have made this clear right from the very beginning. Not very smart on his part. $10k off MSRP for an RS4 is a helluva deal. That's first year depreciation right there.

Yes but 0.9 is the better offer in my eyes. Nearly zero interest... You'll save more in the longrun.
