Changing Rear Brakes on D3

Is it true that the Dealership must reset the electronic parking brake system through the computer when the rear pads are changed? Is this something that you can do with Vag-Com ?

Need to replace the brakes all around on an A8, dealer says they have to do it so they can input the new rear brake pad width into the computer so the electronic parking brake will function properly.


... Found this to be untrue. The electric rear parking brakes are the same as the VW, and just need to be retracted with a scanner before and after pads are changed...
