Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself here. Im from NC, but working in TX til Jan, then its on to North Florida. I've been catching up on reading about future mods and issues for the S4. Mine has the K&N filter and APR resontated exhaust (too quiet ). I had a friends take some pics for me. enjoy.

Nice looking car, have fun with it. First thing to do is cut those resonators out!

Great looking car, and photos which are better than most -- compliments to Dave Yoakam Photography.

    But:

I've never understood why somebody would want the exhaust to be louder -- is that to attract the police? A view of the rear S4 badge fading into the distance makes just as much of a statement. I prefer to make an impression with what's under the hood...

To each, his own. We're all looking for something more, I think.

I just thought it was a little quiet, thats all. And I see Intakes dont do much for the engine. All thats left to do it downpipes and a reflash. Maybe the RS4 wheels and some sort of lip kit (if someone can point me in the right direction). Thats all i want...

If you searched the archives for exhaust under B6/B7 S4/RS4 you'd see this type of discussion happening all the time. There're some great exhaust systems out there. Search youtube or this forum for clips and pick what you like.

I don't disagree about the "quietness." My brother has a 2006 Mustang GT and it sounds pretty beefy stock...sometimes I wish my S4 did as well - but it doesn't, so I'll be modding my catback and possibly going with DP's as well. Don't take what other people say around here too harshly...

I wasn't trying to harsh on you at all; I simply think that if you get a new exhaust because of the performance and it happens to be louder, great, but if you get a new exhaust because it's louder and it happens to perform better, well, that's kind of backwards.

Neither of our opinions on the subject are necessarily right or wrong; it's just about personal preference.

You'll never read something from me that is meant to be shitty; this isn't a place to rag on anybody unless they actually deserve it, and you don't.

    ...and like we've all said, it's a sa-weet ride.

    Re: New B6 owner

almost everybody gets an exhaust for b6/b7 for the sound and the look of bigger tips. everyone knows there will be minimal gains. have you heard an exhaust on the v8 yet? if not, do yourself a favor and look up some clips on youtube or go to a meet and listen to one in person. i'm sure you're opinion will change (or maybe not). it just sounds AWESOME.

to the OP, great pics! love the car. i would also add springs/shocks or coilovers to your list of future mods and call it a day. oh, and remove the front plate mount too.

So I'll do the exhaust & downpipes for the 30hp, according to Miltek, and I'll keep an open mind (ear) about the sound.
