Agreed, the whole stage thing is for ricers ot Audis I guess...
Even the new WRX in stock form would give an S4 some trouble from a dig and with the previous models it would take just a few boltons.
To the OP... Since you seem disappointed by losing to a WRX stay away from SRT-4's, Cobalt SS, Mazdaspeed 3's. anything with a big american V8, and of course STI's and Evo's. If you wanted the most bang for the buck or fastest best handling car on the block, you bought the wrong car.
OneFastBMW, I don't know why so many people say that, but it's silly and makes no sense. Yes, certain FI cars can run out of steam up top but it's not like it's some trait for those cars you mentioned. The STI and WRX have a smaller turbo so it's somewhat true for them. However, bolt on a larger turbo or even get a tune and exhaust and it's not the case anymore. Evo's and SRT-4's will pull hard up top, especially once they have a few minor mods, mainly because of weight and the size of their stock turbos. Put a bigger turbo like a GT35/37R on an Evo and you can trap around 150mph in the 1/4. So, I'd say they do fine up top. Even in stock form an Evo 9 can trap 106mph and it does not fall on its face after that.
