Question Need PIC for Bilstein Shock + H&R Spring Combo

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

I have the Bilstein Shock with UNKNOWN Springs (Bought the car used).

I don't like either the spring feel or the drop, front is a lot lower than the rear and it's so low in the front that it rubs when I turn the wheels quite a bit.

Also have clicking noise when making U-turns at even low speed, thought CV joint/boot issue but dealer checked and told me its the springs contacting each other (the rings).

Therefore, I want to change the springs. I saw many people using bilstein shock with H&R springs, and I wonder how the look would be compared to mine.

Thanks for ANY input or comment on what I should do, really appreciate pics tho :)

    Cheers!

Re: Need PIC for Bilstein Shock + H&R Spring Combo

its normal for aftermarket shocks/springs to make a clicking sound when the wheels are turned all the way. my bilstein pss9's make the same sound and alot of other coilovers do too.. so you're not alone on that.

got pics of the car? I would recommend getting the full coilover package. in case if you didn't know, the shocks and struts in a coilover system is designed for each other so you'll have no problems.

Thumbs up Re: Need PIC for Bilstein Shock + H&R Spring Combo

If the car didn't come with a Bilstein shock I would go for a Coilover.
But since the car already has the Bilstein shocks with only 15k miles, I would rather save some money if possible.

I 've heard that Bilstein shock and H&R spring is a very good combo that's why I am considering H&R to improve the look and the road feel maybe.

The clicking noise isn't the only thing, I also have rubbing when turning, as well as crunching the speed bumps right after the front wheels get passed the bump , I was like "ouch.." everytime even though the car is not loaded with low speed. I followed my friend's lowered cayman over the road bump, he had no problems at all but I crunched it. /sigh

anyways, here I got an old pic of my car with my friend's 06' Quattro with Sport suspension/spring. Hopefully someone can figure out a way for me :)

Heres mine with the H&R springs and stock shocks. Wouldnt mind getting coilovers. Shocks are a bit stiff but doesnt bother me to much. Good luck and hope this helps.

Its somewhat on a slant. Its on my driveway but still a nice drop.
