Something New ....

Well I had a problem with my pillars so after making a claim with my insurance company I was able to get the pillars repaired and painted. The clear coat was peeling and traveling down the car and here are some before pictures.


Drivers side:








Passenger's side:











The passenger's side used to like like the drivers side when I first moved here and in the course of 7 months, it traveled down the rear pillar. I got a quote to paint the pillars and it actually came out to more because of having to blend and clear a lot of the car.

Here is the finished product and it is a little different .......

Yeah, that was my inspiration even though I had planned this a while back and every thing that is black was going to be CF ......

the only thing that is commercially available is the roof, and even then there is someone out there who has one or can. get on it.

I know all the right people to get it done if I really wanted to. I had already talked to them about it and that's one of the reasons why Mike has his CF doors, and why I had CF fenders a while back ......

I don't consider this a show paint job and the striping serves two purposes. 1) To separate the colors and 2) To highlight the red BBK's

Also the car is not silver, it is melange which is like a light champagne color. Sometimes it just looks like silver because of the sunlight.

Looks pretty good.....I remember seeing a photoshop rendering of this w/ CF fenders a while back......THAT would have been unreal. Why'd you decide against it? I can see how CF fenders would be delicate and harder to upkeep, but the look woulda been priceless. But either way it looks great. I've always loved ur car man.....just look at those BRRRAKESS

but as far as the new paint i think it looks awesome. Matches your wheels/brakes and the lines follow the car's body curve very well. Good job!

Looks good Fred, I like it and yeah the red pinstripe helps seperate the two colors. Car still looks tight man.

the lighting in the pic made me think it was silver with some sort of reflection from either the sunlight or the gravel and the driveway. But either way, it would still look better in white. But not my cup of tea anyway.

I am a biiiig two tone fan, and the strip separating the two colours is real nice. A friend has a Subie RSTi and has a beautiful two tone job, I love the idea.

Thanks for all the comments fellas and it is a good feeling to have her back 100% complete. I know the paint job isn't for everyone but I like it it and I wanted to try something new for me.

Now all I have to do do is clean her up and do a proper photo shoot with the beautiful NM desert and mountains .......
