    LOUD Creaking, Groaning and Squeaking????

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
99.5 A4 Avant 1.8T...On the driver side. When Im pulling down the driveway or exiting the vehicle, driving at low speeds. There is a LOUD creaking, groaning and squeaking coming from the driver side front suspension. The sway bar end links and bushings are new in the last 7k miles. the control arms are new 8k miles ago.
I dont want to start replacing stuff with reckless abandon. HELP, PLEASE.

sounds like outer tie rod ends.

real easy fix, just need an alignment when you're done.

FYI, if you plan on DIY'ing, and havent removed the pinch bolt recently, remove the wheels a day in advance and soak the top bolts in penetrating oil(WD40, PB blaster, etc.)

I have the same Issue with my car on the front left side, also, My tie rods are all new (replaced with the steering rack). Jacked up the car and noticed my left side sway bar end link has absolutely no rubber bushing on it. I ordered a new End link, I'm hoping this will stop my creaking issue.

Anyone else have any suggestions or previous experience in ridding of this awful creak?

I am trying to see if my issue might be something else other than my sway bar end link.

I have the same noise...its most probably a lower control arm.
I replaced both upper ones, my tie rod along with the drive axel and the noise remains...though it comes and goes...Its going to stay for a month, then disappear for 3.

I suggest you take off the wheel and look for play in the arms

I had the same problem, it was a dry ball joint. It passed inspection in jan with a tight front end the noise stopped but when doing the front wheel bearing i noticed it was super loose it was the front straight arm
