Fast Intentions Exhaust

i just got my FI cat back installed today. it is the 8"inch resonated version with the x-pipe.

the exhaust is pretty mellow, especially up top, it sounds kind of choked up. i think i need to do the downpipes asap.

i want it to sound throaty and i hope the downpipes will get me there.

does anyone know if different brand of downpipes have a different sound?

I've had mine on for a while and it never got louder. A little but not enough for sure. That exhaust sounds nice but it was the biggest waste of money.

I started with a Milltek res and ended up removing the resonators. Now it sounds great and I have stock DP's. If you get DP's, it'll get louder and sound even better.

yeah get the resonators cut out to make it louder.... get downpipes to make it throatier. I have a milltek fullback and it sounds like sex!

the first day or 2 when I had my exhaust put on I swear it didnt even sound like anything....and after a week or so it formed into the sweet sound that is produced now.

i did lots of research, i ended up with APR DPs, and a non-res milltek...sounds PERFECT. DPs will make it louder, but with teh resonators, you lose some of that sound

Pretty reasonable I live in south cali and occasionally visit some friends in the valley where FI is located so I might do that...

Im not sure....its def resonated and they might even be larger so....I do know this is one of the first FI systems with the spiral core mufflers......with resonated tips too

does anyone know if you can buy just the center non-res section so i can take out my x-pipe with 8" res section. it just seems really mellow to me right now. and i dont have the cash for dp's...

If you do post that up! I have been looking everywhere and have not been able to find a video of non-res FI catback. I love the sound of the full resonated exhaust but don't want to F with the DPs. Although it would be a good idea if you could swap out just the x-pipe section between res and non-res.
