Can anybody check out a B5 S4 Avant for me in Sausalito?

I am considering buying a car in Sausalito (N San Fran) but I live in Portland. I figured before I completely trust the salesman I would find somebody to look at it for me. Another option (easier) would be to recommend a good shop to have him drop it off at to get it inspected. The main thing I am wanting to find out is if the Turbo's are starting to go. It seems that a lot of owners don't know what that sounds like. I drove a car yesterday that I'm 90% sure the turbo was starting to go, he was clueless.

Anyways if you can help or recommend a shop that somewhat close that'd be great. Just don't buy the car out from under me;)

I live 10 min. from sausalito. What dealership is it at? Kovacs Motors in San rafael (5min.) away is probably the best place to have the car checked out in this area.

Im wondering if shops do free inspections though?

I don't mind paying a little for some peace of mind. Unfortunately the Audi Dealerships charge a few hundred for a good inspection and to hook it up to Vag-Com. Really just a good visual inspection and road test by someone somewhat familiar with Audi's will suffice. Just want to make sure the car won't need any major repairs for a few months if possible.

For a thorough inspection Kovacs Motors charges $110 (includes Vag).

this tip avant has been on CL for about a month now. Kinda strange for a low milage S4.

So I still would like to find somebody to check this car out for me. Based on their initial impressions, if its good then I'm hoping to run it by a shop. I might be able to talk the dealer into taking to an independant shop for me since that might take a little time.

If you want an Independant Shop, search on Yelp for European Motors in San Francisco. It's run by a guy names Sokol who really knows his stuff and won't charge an arm and a leg. However, I don't know how you'd work out with the dealer in Sausilito to get the car there.
