Those of you that have changed your snub mount, do you still have the stock one around?? I cut mine off and want to put the OE mount back in, my car shakes way too much with the new one and I hate it.

    I'll pay shipping.

    Re: Stock Snub?

One more thing, whats the difference between the colors of the APR mounts? I ordered mine from ECS a while ago, lists the black one for 97 and 01 cars, which is the one I ordered. I recieved a dark blue one...

To the best of my knowledge there is no difference, just the colors.

The center hole on the APR snubs are different. Blue one has a slightly smaller center hole than their black ones.

    Re: Stock Snub?

if your car shakes too much from just putting a snub in it there is something wrong with your car that your stock mount is covering up

    Re: Stock Snub?

I don't remember what my stock mount felt like. I do know that my Stern snub is probably polyurethane and it feels normal at idle.

    Re: Stock Snub?

The stock ones are rather hard like a solid rubber/plastic compound. But the gaps between mount and the walls in the bracket is ridiculous when compared to the 034 snub mount w/bracket. I don't know the difference other brands such as Stern does though.

they were origionally somewhat stiff rubber. after 12 years most people's have disintegrated by now and are now pretty soft or broken.

    Re: Stock Snub?

brand new they are orange porous rubber, and some have a light powder on them (snort it, i dare ya...), and over time they turn blackish/brown from grease/grime esp with no belly pan, or if oil is allowed to leak on it. they also start to disintigrate. i would suggest if you want the oem one, buy it new (its not too expensive anyway).

    Re: Stock Snub?

Hey man the ones for our car from APR is black!
    Your vibrating problem is either:

-you didn't let the car run to settle it before
    -installed it the wrong side
-didn't shave the inside of the snub a little.

You shoudn't be having problems with APR snub, if it worked for me, should work for you =)

    Re: Stock Snub?

You need to have the correct snub mount for your year vehicle. If it lists different "colors" then there is a reason.. LOL I have an APR snub on my 01 and it has a little more vibration then stock, but I also have RS4 mounts...

So basically, Audi experienced with all those difference designs and they didn't come up with one that work as good and as simple as what we are buying now????
