Is there a temp you can change the Aux fan (Electric Fan behind the radiator) to turn on or off at?
    in Vag of course...

I am overheating just a bit after a Timing belt job. in Vag it will be up to 102c no more and thats in traffic (bumper to bumper for 45 minutes) on a 65 degree day.
I am FMIC, I've had the fmic installed for over a year now, I had not experienced this during that time. again this only happened after the timing belt job. I did the TB job and its good I think.
I checked the tensioner and it seems to be fine no problems. I bleed the coolant system all to no avail.
What I did notice is that when I turn on the heat (at speed doesnt matter) it cools down the engine with noticable difference. Vag shows at 98c thats a 4 degree difference.

That is because when you turn the heat on, it takes heat from the motor. Same reason why if you bust your headgasket and the car is overheating, if you need to get it somewhere, drive with all the windows down and the heat blasting.

EvilEvo - Its the electric fan in front of the radiator that is doing the majority of the cooling not the inside fan. I do however agree it will help but not significantly.

But do you know of anyway to kick on the fan at certain temps?

there is a lower than stock temp afterrun fan switch that you can purchase from ECS tuning or some other places. I have it, it basically turns the fans on at 198* rather than 240 something that it does from factory...

it may also have to do with the tstat that you bought... if you see ECS lists a few different ones. I dont understand them but heres a link lol

I am thinking to just do it all over again with a new t-stat.. TB job is relatively easy.
Hoping to shoot under 5 hours this time..

    Re: Aux Fan -

it just depends at wat temperature the t-stat opens, a higher value for the t-stat the warmer your engine will get b4 it opens to let the coolant flow. In this case, that is why hes reading 104C, a little higher than normal, bc of the 92C t-stat
