ECU communication problem

I just took my car to the mechanic for a regular tune up, he checked the ECU for any codes, of course the car didn't have any check engine light, he said the tool said communication error or something like that, what do u guys think could it be?

I have the same problem right now too. It only wants to connect occassioanlly

I think mine is fixed, It was my radio , few days ago i put in a Blaupunkt mp3 player that plugs in the stock harness, i swapped it with my oem one and then scanned it, it worked.. Thanks for help tho. good luck.

btw.. do u have a stock radio or aftermarket.

i have an aftermarket one but im thinking it has to do with the cable on my vagcom
