I live in Virginia, and unfortunatley we have to have front tags, was wondering a good option or opinion, i was thinking about getting the swiftmotorsports front tag hideaway system, or maybe the license plate mount that goes where the front tow hook is. opinions, links or anything would help, i have the swift web site but cannot find the tow hook mount.

    Re: Front mounted plates

just ordered one... looks like the best solution out there for those of us who have to have a front license plate (or at least don't want to hassle with the police when we don't have to)....

    Re: Front mounted plates

Not sure how it is in Utah, but here in CA a lot of people don't have front plates, even though it's required. Not sure if you'd get in trouble for it on top of everything else if you get pulled over for something else, but by itself the police don't really care whether you have a front plate.

    Re: Front mounted plates

In Virginia if one of your license plate lights is not working expect a police car pulling up from the woods and 5 others surrounding you in 10 seconds with 10 flashlights on your car and a helicopter on top as if you committed war.

yeah... i've been back and forth on this quite a lot.
i imagine that police in california are a bit busier than here in utah.... the cop who came by and checked my vin said not to worry (in so many words) about the front driver and passenger side tint but said to get the license plate fixed. I'd just hate to get pulled over here by some conservative cop after having a couple of beers or glasses of wine at a friend's house... I love the clean look of no plate but don't feel like giving someone a reason to pull me over.

The skidplate is sick. Make sure to tighten everything real good so it doesn't come loose. Also buy those little rubber caps for the end of the plate screws. I've been tapped a couple of times and I have nicks in my bumper. Click my gallery to see it on.
