That's about when my stock cats went out...
then my new cats went out & then my O2 sensors went, so I think the O2s had something to do with the cats going out in the first place. Might want to replace those as a preventative measure if you haven't already.

80K is the warranty in California

Time to get some downpipes and a chip, that will solve your problem.

    Issue? send me an email

When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

chipped, coilovers, 18' rs6 reps, solid shifters, darintakes, K&N air filter, Bosch 710N's, vag-com in Palm, Navi, 20GB phatnoise in trunk, 4.2(s6) door blades, roof rack...fun enough for me...lol
I don't want to go too crasy...exhaust modes would be a little too loud for me...
I've seen piggy pipes on youtube and it is a lot louder than I expected...
what should I do...should I just reset it ecu whenever check engine light comes back on??

Had the same issue on my 00 A6....started around 90k. Some O2 spacers/eliminators on the back sensors ought to do the trick for the check engine as well as emissions. The 00 A6 ECU is super sensitive and will trigger the Cat Inefficiency codes as the cats get older. They are not as efficient according to the ECU but in reality still fine.

I tried the spark plug fouler technique for the bank 1 cat on my 3.0 quattro. The two foulersin series with the sensor was too long that it hit the engine firewall everytime I revved the engine heavily. After two day of the install I heard an exhaust leak and found that the foulers were broken in two. Is the VAST CELiminator shorter than the two foulers put in series?
