    Re: tinted stock tail

Had someone do mine, he did them by thinning out black paint. Most use VHT Nightshades.

^VHT is sprayed on the outside then wet sanded, clear coated, and buffed to a shine. Same concept as mine, but with thinned black paint you can get the exact shade you want. Some do the back up lenses, while others dont. Personal pref.

I used an rc model paint and then sprayed model clear on the. The pic of them off the car is with the model clear. The model clear didn't hold up so I wetsanded them and recleared them with duplicolor automotive clear. The pics on the car are with the automotive clear. I sprayed the clear portion of the tail with three light coats first before spaying the whole tail with 3 more coats.

I haven't wetsanded or buffed/polished the lights yet since I recleared them. I'm sure they will look better once I get the time to do that. There is a little orange peel. I wouldnt waste your time with the model clear. It had a ton of orange peel and one good weekend of rain at H2O undermined the clear and it bubbled and peeled all over the place. The automotive clear is holding up really well though. I've done a little more work to my car and when I get a chance I'm going to wetsand and polish the tails and my spoiler and do a thorough clean. Then I'll be sure to pic whore a little before winter kicks in and it's too nasty to photograph.
