Thinking about trying it as a cheap alternative to the $1500 retardedly priced OEM unit. This one doesn't come with bumper support but I don't need it, as I already have my bumper support modded and detached from my rieger bumper, this cover should slip right over it.

Thoughts?

probably going to. I hate how they never have pictures of the actual product. That's one of their biggest downfalls. Check ebay: More than half of the carbon hoods they have posted for Audi are pictures of the civic hatchback hood or something.

But for around $300 shipped, if this is an actual RS4 lookalike, and is made to fit a non-widebody.. it would be REAL hard to pass up.

That being said, does anyone know where to get the Seidl RS4 front? I need a new bumper and it aint gonna be another rieger.

I have had 2 different VIS hoods on my supras with no problems (OEM carbon and TRD style vented carbon).

I really might pick this up although I have to admit it is shady buying with that one pic. What am I buying? I still don't know if it's fit for a widebody or stock bodied car. Emailing tonight, as I don't even see the product on their website yet. Just the Rieger one is on their website, and the "Otto" which looks like the Oettinger front for the B5. (Very clever product naming, VIS).

Octane won't have pics, because they don't stock the part- probably drop-ships from vis. We need to contact vis directly, or have one of the site sponsors do it for us.

nasty... it will most likely NOT be the rs4 wide bumper. it should most likely bolt up to s4s because its a replica made to fit s4s. otherwise the fitment would be for rs4s. if that makes sense. FOr that cheap you may just try it out. i assume if it wasnt what you were looking for you can work out a return on it. or sell it locally on c-list for the same price.

I totally agree with you... i'm just saying even IF there was a body kit or lip or whatever that came out for it that looked good and/or fit well, there would still be those who are like "RS4 all the way"... I should have been more specific in my argument. God I remember a while ago when someone put that actual body kit on from Forza 2. the one that made it look like a hyundai tiburon...
I'm also saying that the term rice is being thrown around too freely nowadays. we should really limit it to actual riced cars. I mean an S4 with a bad from fascia on it and we call it rice? It's stock colors, usually clean non chrome rims, and no chrome taillights or flame decals anywhere? rice? no... we should have a term for this instead of rice..

EXACTLY my point, and I emailed them on that note, although I was a bit nicer about it. I just told them I don't understand how they expect to sell a bunch of these, which they could actually sell a shitload if the part was decent and fit well, without a SINGLE picture of what you are buying 1000+ miles away.

Anyways gents, I decided to go ahead and put my order in to Octane Motorsports, pending the reply to the email about the picture and the full refund if it is a Rieger knockoff. If they comply, I will hit the "Submit Order" button.

I need a new front bumper, and if I can pay 1/5th of the price of a real RS4 while getting the same thing, (yes I know, aesthetically only, not quality wise), why not. I've had fiberglass bumpers on my other cars with no problems. Plus, it has the headlight washers shaved, which makes the front look cleaner. Them shits are pointless, seriously.

I suppose I will be the test pilot on this one, only for you AZ'ers. Go ebay!

Seriously could they have made it any closer to nogaro? I remember the one thread a while ago on vortex of the guy that went to pick up an S4 for his friend and painter's taped the whole thing. Remember that? Shit coulda passed for a nogaro S4 from like 20 feet away haha.

On a serious note, nogaro'ed tape looks better than a couple of big holes for stupid headlight washers

Little update:

I ordered the bumper straight from VIS, should be here in 6 days. It is indeed the RS4 knockoff, not the "RSR" or whatever Lltek calls the Rieger now. I tried to get the guy to take decent pics, but it took him about 2 weeks to get me these 2, and I got tired of waiting. I really hope it's the right bumper.

Here are a couple pics from VIS, hard to tell what it is but I decided to take the risk, it looks to me like the RS4 one, not the Rieger. What do you think? Did I just buy another Rieger front bumper?

For the price it's not bad as a replacement i guess. I used to buy from VIS a long time ago and they have always been helpful (though slow with orders) but they always have given me something for free for waiting like a hood or spoiler. That was my honda days when everything didn't fit and it was expected you had to modify it. You get what you pay for thats it.

Hard to tell, those side gills are different than the reiger. Not to mention that it looks fiberglass, while reiger is ABS plastic.
