VA GTG DIY Cruise OCT 25th

SLOWS4 has convinced me to do this and i also want to bite off the Maryland style. So who in VA wants to meet up and cruise to Justins for are GTG/DIY day? Also i have a list of stuff i want to get done and would like to get there around 9 so hopefully all the rest of the VA'ers agree.

Ok...so here's an idea.

Some of us live in Alexandria, VA. Others live in Centerville, Ashburn and various other places in VA. As of right now, I understand that the three main spots are Alexandria, Centerville, Ashburn.

This is the plan.

* All those in Alexandria/Arlington meet up at a certain spot in Alexandria, closes to 495.

* From there, we travel down 495 to 66 and head out to Centreville.

* Centreville members will pick a spot CLOSEST to 66, from there we travel up 28 to meet up with the Ashburn members.

* Upon picking up the ashburn members we drive down 7 and get onto Georgetown Pike.

Hows that sound?

i believe centreville is the other way on 66. i think it would be better if we met you guys on 495, maybe at the 495 exit from 66, otherwise you'll be traveling the opposite direction...

I say whatever the plan is, we settle on a definite plan by this friday.

how about we all meet up at the shopping center by georgetown pike and go from there or another good spot near everything would be reston town center.. c'ville comes on to it from farifax county prkway or 7100, alexendria from 267 or toll road and ashburn from 7. that myte work a lil better and georgetown pike is a short distance from there..

The centreville guys could meet at fast food central which is where all those fast food restaurants, the new hooters, and the dulles expo center is located off 28 where they could wait for the guys coming from 66. Im not sure exactly what number the exit would be for the guys on 66w, but if you just take the 28 exit towards dulles airport, fast food central is the on the right about 2 miles down 28, and from there you all could roll down 28 to rt 7. I dont know if that would work for you guys?

MisanoRS4- i believe the area you are talking about is the EXPO Center for those who don't know.

I'll wait to see what everyone else is thinking, it doesn't matter i'll go and meet wherever just as long as we get there early.

I'm up for the "wagon wheel" if others are... if not, I'm willing to drive to another meeting spot so long as it makes sense for everyone, and I'll defer to the rest of you folks for figuring out the logistics... Not that big of a deal, and if we were to take pix, I'd assume folks would be more interested after we did whatever projects we were going to do rather than before anyway...

I'm down for this cruiiise. I think the fast food meeting place (expo center) would probably be the best since it's on the way up Rt. 28 to Rt. 7.

Wagon Wheel
Pros: Everyone gets to participate in convoy style drive. Gives the NoVA members a chance to meet up and get to know each other. Everyone gets picked up. Scenic.
Cons: Cars WILL be hot when we get to the spot, so it'll make for some much needed cool-down and lots of down-time. Gas guzzling.

Tysons Meet
Pros: EVERYONE knows where it is. Halfway point for Alexandria/Arlington drivers. Accessible via 495/Rt. 7
Cons: No point in Ashburn/Leesburg/C-ville guys to drive ALL the way down only to make it back up 7. Cars WILL be hot when we get to the spot.


Also, I know theres at least one or two coming up from Prince William County (or coming east depending on where you live). Do these guys want to join up to?

I think it would make more sense to meet at the expo center off 28. it'll be about the same as meeting in tysons, and those coming from alex. /arlington can take 66 to 28 and the rest of the people besides us leesburg/ashburn will be in that area anyway.

Does this sound stupid? if so my bet is on the tyson's meet.

Sounds good to me, Anyone else? Meet time should be 8:45@ Expo and we can wait till 9 for any stragglers. Which will still give us more than enough time to get to Great Falls by 9:15-9:30.

C-ville, Ashburn, Leesburg and gents all points west have gotten their sh*t down already. Its time for the A-town boys (Annandale, Alexandria, Arlington) to get our stuff down.

Since I will most likely be down in the Alexandria/Arlington area saturday morning, I say we all meet up at the Hoffman Center movie theatre parking lot around 8, leave at 815 and meet up with the Expo guys at 845. Good?








(If I'm the only one from Alexandria/Arlington that wants to roll, I'm going to stay in ashburn and roll out with those guys, so I'll give it a few days....Vern, Nev, you guys are my secondary)
