cd changer wiring to trunk with symphony II?

I have the Symphony II in my car, with the 6 disc in dash changer. Did Audi run a cable in all their cars to the trunk in the event the dealer would add a changer as an option? At the recommendation of ENDEE666 I bought a phatnoise system on ebay. It should be here tomorrow and it does come with a cable. I purchased a cable before I saw, and bought this package that came with one, and it is an adapter cable, not a full cable. I am not sure which type of cable will come with the unit when it arrives. I am just wondering if there should be a wire in my trunk already, or if I have to run the wire all the way to the head unit.

Yes, your 2002 is pre-wired for the trunk-mounted CD changer with the round 13-pin plug. Open the cubby inside the trunk on the driver side. Remove the tool tray where the jack is located. Looking in the opening, in the upper right, you should see a foam-wrapped cable zip-tied and tucked away. That is the CD-changer cable. See picture below

Audi removed this pre-wiring in 2003 and later.

I guess kind of a threadjack...

Nothing new to the car recently, but I removed the hardwired Passport radar detector (with the cupholder display). Just spent too many times trying to explain to Jr. Driver what the beeping is...and decided that I needed to be a better role model so I removed it.

I am happy with the wheels (Volks) and all the interior/exterior goodies. Also just had one cat replaced under federal emissions warranty, and in the process, my body shop guy cleaned up the adaptors for the RS6 exhaust. The adaptor was previously welded onto the outlet pipe of the cat and the inlet pipe of the RS6 setup. He figured out a cleaner way to do it with the OEM clamp so the exhaust can be removed more easily...simple bolt-on now :)))

Just getting ready for a final claybar/Menzerna detail for the season to get ready for winter, and deciding when to get the winter shoes on.
