I think the problem was that he went in way too hot, understeered like crazy, realized that he wasnt turning even though the steering wheel was a good ways to the right and he tapped the brakes which put some weight on the front tires which resulted in extra grip, and the car jolted to the right and started sliding and then he tried to correct himself and it was too much and ended going off track.

I think the problem was that he went in way too hot, understeered like crazy, realized that he wasnt turning even though the steering wheel was a good ways to the right and he tapped the brakes which put some weight on the front tires which resulted in extra grip, and the car jolted to the right and started sliding and then he tried to correct himself and it was too much and ended going off track.

I think you nailed 'cause if you freeze right where the video cuts back to him he's pointed way right which means he's most likely hit the brakes.
After that his over-correcting puts him in the grass.

Like you said, it looks like he just went it way too hot, and would've taken some good driving to stay out of the grass.

I like how his passenger quickly got out with that "Get me the f*** outta here" look.

wow. that was a hard impact looked like. you're probably right on the description, looks like a freak out turning left. if he kept on it he would have been fine on the track or would have done some theatrics on the track and slid off to the grass probably

they sell coverage for most of the track events. life insurance is another story.

on anothe note. You get your car towed off the track and say that it got hit on the street or something so your insurance will cover it, that is until they see it on youtube.

I def think you're right about that one! Like they say, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again! But I think a day in a karting class or something of the sort would have been a lot better for him!

From what I understand, it was Audi of UK demo car..... and the silver RS4 was trying to copy the moves of the professional driver in the black RS4..... Poor shmuch, he's out about 65K pounds now,....

I'm not going to diss the guy and say all this stuff about how he should be in a honda..... people make mistakes.... sometimes they are a little more costly than others..... But I don't think this guy deserved to have his avant wrecked (no one does). Though people are assuming the story, we don't know what really happened.....

The first video clearly shows him going in too hot. The second video clearly shows he does not have control over the car. Clearly not an experienced driver and clearly someone who exercises poor judgment and drives well beyond his capabilities.

We all make mistakes but some are dumber and more expensive than others. This could've been avoided had he kept his ego in check and focused on learning to drive rather than "going fast".

I'd say the driver watches too much Top Gear and thinks drifting around a track is the fastest way around, and that it's easy (it's not, especially with AWD).

My main concern is why he wasn't black flagged earlier. The corner workers at any of the tracks I've been to will black flag you for just putting a wheel off. They should have ended his day early given the drift and the spin.

I for one would never go back to an event with the same organizers. Too dangerous.

Clearly shows why this cars are not made for everybody. On the other hand if I drive a RS4 and play with S2, S3 and others, I would not like to be passed either.
Know your limits and explore them wisely - a >60K advice for some. And yes, I'm jealous as I can't affort to crash a RS4 - Not even my A4 for that matter.

I was waiting for someone to say that. You only get out of the car sooner if its safer outside than in the car (IE, flames/smoke other immediate risks), I didn't see anything, and I sure as hell didn't see a corner worker or otherwise clear them.
