    Re: FMIC Install question...

it will fit but will require some trimming. i dont know of the core you got but some require the rebar to be cut as well. i have one off ebay and it fit without cutting the rebar but the bumper had to be trimmed a bit. also lost the lower grilles and fog lights for the fmic.

So after taking a look at it this morning, it seems like the intercooler would hang out at the bottom. I'm going to have to find an s4 or use my reiger 2 bumper so that i wouldn't have to cut my bumper.

Do you have pics of what yours look like?

i have mine flipped upside down, it hangs out the valance. i would suggest just cutting out the metal rebar of the bumper to tuck it in behind the bumper

    Re: FMIC Install question...

I cut my rebar, filled it in with foam, and went over it with 100mph tape so no foam pieces stick out.
Then again mine was a 3" FMIC..

    Re: FMIC Install question...

If you take your time trimming and whatnot you can keep your grilles... Here is mine.
Trimmed the Bumper bar, and the plastic peices very very precisely and carefully

    Re: FMIC Install question...

Heres my DUH FMIC, which is almost 3" think....had to hack the shit out of the bumper and the rebar to get it to fit:

I wouldn't do this again, if I had to do it over again. I would've just waited til I got a bigger front bumper.

NO? I did however trim the bumper metal bar, whatever I cut/notched, I went back over it and boxed it in with some tig welding. Strength FTW

    Re: FMIC Install question...

Here's mine... they said "no cutting required" but i had to ditch the side vents because there was no way in hell they were going to be able to stay in there. So i took out the middle one too and cut off all the little tabs, just for congruence. Also i had to grind down the foglight housings a tad but i got to keep them and the headight sprayers too. It looks pretty good i think, just unprotected which kinda sucks

    Re: FMIC Install question...

I'd so like to put a FMIC on but I really want to keep the fog lights at a minimum... grills would be nice as well. More searching to do. I am hoping to do it next spring.

    discontained your install is amazing

    Re: FMIC Install question...

If you plan on not going above a kkk turbo then I'd recommend this FMIC kit from autobahn88
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220282201789
Just installed it on mine. You will loose the sai if you have one. I only had to trim a very small amount off the side fog brackets on the s4 bumper. Couldn't get the fogs in but, havent tried that hard to do so.
