I dont touch the subframe, undo the engine mounts, pull off the front end, and jack the engine up

The engine should be supported from a cross beam from above, using cables or threaded rods and j hooks to suspend the engine from overhead.

You dont have to pull the front clip, just remove the snub and its bracket from the block, remove the nuts on the motor mounts (keep the rear tranny mount bolted) and jack up the front of the motor. All you need to do is get it high enough to get the motor mounts out of the brackets and you have enough room to get the pan out.

    alrready pulled the front clip....

omg how much of a job this is. its seriously the biggest pain in the ass i have ever dealt with as far as replacing a god damn oil pan...

    the motor is practically out.

    agh

day 2 will be gin tomorrow.

for all you guys that are low low, and daily drive your car. lift them now! you dont wanna go through what i just went through...

so far the damage is a motor mount, the pan with like a 7 inch crack, and a few other things here and there... i rather snap another bumper before i have to go through with this again.

agh! sorry just venting just had an entire day of hard work learning as i go. oh well saved me a lot of money

pulling the pan tomorrow, doing timing belt and water pump :)

Yea not sure why you pulled the front end as I said, if that were the case you could have dropped the subframe in 5 min, replaced the oil pan in about 30min, put it back together and gotten an alignment. Would have taken you 2 hrs and cost 100 bucks for an alignment

Might need a 1/4" drive socket and rachet for the rear bolts on the oil pan. I believe they are hidden in the transmisison bellhousing if I remember correctly.

one of the reasons why I never lowered my car from the stock sport height . . . winters around here wouldn't allow it considering I drive it year round.

    what did you run over?

well i pulled the front end because i am at 72K on my car... so i figureed fuck it why not just do the timing belt and water pump. so thats why i did it this way. i think its been a HUGE pain in the ass but if i had to do it again i could do it easily.

BTW front end takes about 30 min to take completly off. so i was perfectly fine with that
