    A6 Hesitates

    Changed my spark plugs yesterday. Now the car seems to hesitate or studder now and then when accelerating. Doesnt happen all the time but alot. Anyone got thoughts? MAF problem?

    What plugs did you use?

    Did you double check the gapping on the plugs? I had this problem before, and the gap was incorrect on the plugs

    part #? they should come pre gapped, unless they gave you wrong ones?

    Even though they should have been pre gapped, you should check. I have seen this exact situation before because the OEM stuff wasn't right. It wasn't on purpose or anything. When we found the problem, we checked the boxes they came in. Two of the bozed were bashed in, so they were probably dropped or stored wrong.

    Just a possibility....

    Could be a coilpack that's causing a misfire when you accelerate (actually, could be a number of other things too if it is a misfire). Do you hear any sounds when the stuttering happens? You can also try a post in your respective regional forum and see if someone with a VAG can pull up any codes.

    I did Vag it no avail its sucha weird problem haha. How about the wires? Spark plug wires are the ones that came with the car. Its a 99 with 123k on the clock so i mean there prolly due haha oh and no sounds. It just feels like a studder almost as when you stall manual car but not quite as rough

    Has the same problem, and became even worse when car was running on lpg.

    Had to replace all the coils...Really wasn't in the mood for finding out which one was faulty.
