Hey guys, I am new to the Audi scene. I just picked up a 01' A4. I am in love with it and cannot wait for some powder to experience the Quattro. I used to own Japanese now I moved to the Euro and am not regretting my decision at all.
I need to make my car faster. My Nissan used to have 700hp. simply put the 2.8 is lacking a bit compared to my Nissan! Could I supercharge it? Engine swap?

What would be the best way to approach this situation??? Any feedback would be great.

Welcome.... supercharge, possible, not cheap. I think for the year of the car, better yet to just sell it and find a 1.8T - a lot more modifiable vs trying to do an engine swap.

or get the S4
2.8 is not really mod freindly
700hp to the 190hp A4 ???

I wanted a B5 S4. I found it really difficult to locate a good one in Ontario. Am I the only one to experience this problem??

Any good S4's form Ontario for sale?

Also any weekly meets in the GTA region preferably around Halton????

Surely coming from a 700hp Nissan you would have understood to have bought a turbo Audi and not a NA.

Tanner is on the ball here. Not much in the way of cheap to get a 2.8 to move.

1.8T you can get up to 300-350hp with relative ease.

2.7T 450-550+hp

My last car was actually a turbo'd 240sx as well. I went the low-boost KA-T route and managed to winter it 3 times successfully. Finally found a black 6-speed S4 though and jumped on it.

So I guess I went from Japanese to Euro as well..

No regrets here...the only "downsides" I could think of in my case were higher maintenance costs (i'm picky though and the car wasn't very well-maintained so I had a fair bit of catch up to do), not the same "raw power" and loud turbo feel/sound, and not being as low to the ground. I certainly have no complaints though...the car is awesome and after 9 months I can't wait to get in it everyday.

And then there's winter.

I say you just enjoy your new beauty stock and as it is, put some cash aside and keep your eye on the Trader for that "just right" B5 S4 and pick it up sometime down the road.

suxs that you got a 2.8t. i know there isent much you can do with that snail. Best is sell it or (seen once and think its cool) do a vr6 swap. But really 1.8t would be best bet.

In response to some questions:

No I was not sponsored by Falken unfortunately…. Everything came out of my pockets.

I was running about 26psi of boost on average my Nissan.

If anyone has a mint B5 S4 they want to sell or trade me I am able and willing. Ha!
