not to be a pain but comparing the picture of the h-sport rs4 sway from the link i provided and the oem rs4 sway picture from ecs's website, the bars have a completely shape to them?

what are the advantages to running this much bigger of a rear sway and what are the disadvantages? and if you put this in the back would you want to put and upgraded front rs4 sway also?

Yes it fits. But I wouldn't recommend it by itself unless you've got some other suspension done. You can easily experience way to0 much oversteer and get you in serious trouble.

Front RS4 sway is the same size as A4 Sport and S4.

but won't this help neutralize the extreme understeer that our cars have? i have h&r coil overs...what are the negatives to running this bar for me?

This is like crushing an ant with a bulldozer.. It's so much more than you'd need to reduce some understeer, and quite frankly isn't the best way to reduce understeer. A properly setup suspension of springs and shocks is a much better approach. You reduce suspension travel, reduce dive, squat, and understeer, while still maintaining suspension independence.

    Re: H-Sport 2007 RS4 Rear Sway

since i am running these bars i will chime in. Unless you really need a stiff set of bars for track use or have worked with the suspension manufatuer to compensate for the stiffness of these bars DO NOT add them. They are very stiff. At the advise of STaSIS I actually had to increase the dampening on my suspension to compensate for these bars at the track. When heavily loaded at the track and quickly unloaded (chicane) they can break the rear end of the car loose. By increasing my dampening a tad it helped control that corner of the unloading suspenion some.

They are overkill for the street and are not designed to be used on the softer A4 suspension. Even on the Rs4 H-Sport suggests them for track use and aggressive driving. The H-Sport S4 kit is a nice happy medium for street driven cars.

Could you suggest what an acceptable diameter rear sway bar would be to go to on an A4 USP Avant with stock 'sport' suspension? I don't want to make too stiff for the damping to cope with, I'm also am not tracking it at all. Fast road not dangerous road

Think the stock USP bar is 18mm, I understand even going up 2mm is like double the stiffness.

    Re: H-Sport 2007 RS4 Rear Sway

just get the OEM RS4 sway, the H sport is overkill.
I had a ride with EGT 18T's car, it felt very tight and firm. He had StaSIS tracksport.
If you are running regular coilovers then you shouldn't run that bar. I will be scared that it can do damages and it will

Maverick, do you mean don't runthe H-Sport bar with standard suspension or don't run the OEM RS4? Sorry mate, I got a bit confused then!

I've got OEM USP (sport) suspension at present, thinking of moving to the OEM RS4 sway. Will this be ok?

    Re: H-Sport 2007 RS4 Rear Sway

OEM rs4 sway is good enough for you as of now. so I mean't don't run the H - Sport sway bar, RUN the OEM RS4 sway bar

one day you might decide to take your car for auto - x, then it's time to get a track use coilover suspenion and the H sport RS4 sway bars.

H-Sport's A4 setup is a great setup for daily driving even with factory sport suspension.
