    So many Magnaflow mufflers

So there are a bunch of different ones that people have used.. what is the reasoning that you chose the one you did? I've seen a lot of people say they use the 14815, some with 14816 and some with 14862 or the 14861.

Does the shape have any effect or is it just personal preference? Some are round some are oval, then there's single and dual tips.

Can someone help me out? I've used the search but wasn't much help and I don't have time to go through every thread.

I was set on a 14815 but it seems to me that the tips would stick out kind of far, plus the prices just went up on them.

    thanks

i have 14815 and they're great! they fit VERY well...14816 is a little bigger outlets, so dont do that if you thought the 15s were big. ill get a pic in a sec

It's all personal preference. I'm running the 14862 as i preferred the tips on that model

Also - how far the tips stick out is all dependent upon how you mount the muffler when installing it. Have whoever installs it dry-fit the muffler so they can get a sense of where you want the tips and they'll mark it when they cut the pipe.

I have the 14816, except my shop did it a little bit different. The muffler went in place of the mid muffler, so the outlet goes to the back through a single pipe, which then splits into dual three in. tips at the end.

    Re: So many Magnaflow mufflers

someone correct me if im wrong. But i believe all of said mufflers have the exact same muffler, they just have different tips at the end. So they should all sound the same. it all just depends on what tip style you want.

i went with the 14815 because i thought the 3" tips fit better then the 3.5" tips on the 14816.

now after getting it installed. allthough i LOVE my exhaust and am pretty happy with the way it looks, i would go with the 14862 if i could do it again. Just because i think the slanted tips flow better with the car, and the tips are a little smaller in diameter.
