how fast are these? how would it compare to a chipped b7 a4?

i would guess the twin turbo's will more than compensate for the added weight...

There faster than a B7, simple vishnu chip and exhaust will equate to 410hp and around the same tq (not to positive on the tq numbers). It's really about what your going to be using the car for, a larger 5-series or an A4 aren't really comparable cars.

looking for stock performance numbers. i know the 335's are fast especially with a chip, but with the added weight of the 5 series and a stock 335 engine, wouldn't that make it a bit slower? i know it will still be faster than a chipped b7 a4 but i'm trying to guage how much, alot or a little

I have a 550 and I have driven a 535. A 535 would smoke my modded A4 (APR, Milltek, LaBree HFC blah blah). I think a nicely sorted 535xi Sportwagon would be f-ing sweet. A tiny amount of modding (Dinan, although more expensive, maintains your warranty) can make that motor a beast.

not exactly. i work at a bimmer dealership and we still support warranties on cars with dinan mods. shit we even offer dinan mods in house.

Yeah the 535 is a beast I know a dinan chip gives you like 370 HP (courtesy of the TT's) I think its funny that the 535 and the 550 have the same 0-60 time, despite the V8. I love the styling of the 550 though

My 335 has serious traction issues in 1st gear, so I imagine a modded 535 would definitely be pretty quick too.

huh thats odd, I thought my dealer told me that dinan chips, stg 3's, and a few other things will void my warranty?..and that BMW was done with dinan (I haven't been keeping up with BMW lately) They said exhaust, suspension, strut braces etc are fine, but anything dealing with the turbos or deletion of cat, would start voiding things. I still did the vishnu chip and exhaust though...

i believe it depends on the dealer. like i said, the bimmer dealership i work at honors warranties on cars with dinan mods, but it might be only if they were done in house there. i would have to check on that. i know for sure that we do dinan ecu flashes on site, and i see large dinan boxes come in from time to time (exhausts being installed on M's etc.)

some dealerships offer flashes and will still support your warranty i believe.
