Complete White LED Interior DIY done yet?

I recently installed the White LED's for the rear license plate and absolutely love how clean it looks...So, I went on a little search and found this place that sells an interior LED kit...Price is around 120 bucks, not sure if its worth it or not...I paid $6 bucks per LED for the license plates...

Considering the package comes with 21 LED's, It doesn't appear to be a terrible price, but I could think of other ways to spend that money lol

So, what do you guys think? Clean mod? waste of money? Do it for a nice weekend project or what lol

If anyone wants a pic of the rear LED pic, I'll take some later tonight

Here are some pictures from the website

Go to autolumination.com and you can assemble your own kit for less than what others are asking. Just seems more logical to assemble your own kit for a bit less and have a variety of different colors and styles to choose from. Good luck!

Good point, thanks for the tip. I'm gonna look into them now and see what's available.

I wonder how difficult it is to pop off all the covers to install these suckers..

Here is the link to order the LED's...

You want to pick the White LED

    39mm Fuse Style LED 14v

And I need to give this guy props for the DIY...I think he is on the forums with the Imola S4...excellent writeup

    http://achtuning.com/tutorials/led-l...t-replacement/

I had one little incident where the LED's didn't light up right away...coincidentally, both LED's needed to be flipped 180...the wrong ends were touching on both lol..don't know how that happened, however if you come across this issue..That is most likely the cause

At the bottom of the 42 Draft designs web site when ordering the 14.5v 39mm bulbs, it says:
"We do not recommend the use of these LEDs on the following vehicles: Mk5 VWs, B6+ Audis."

Would they melt the housings? Anyone have some input?

    Thanks!

I think its just to cover any potential problems. If you do a search for "LED license plate" you'll find plenty of coverage on the topic. I do remember some people getting bulb out messages in the DIS and the all dreaded "flicker". The Imola in the DIY write-up is a B6 S4 if it helps calm fears?

I'm about to order mine from 42DD.
B6 S4 Avant: Nogaro / JHM Tuned/ Piggied / Milltek Non-Res / JHM SS Trio / Hardwired V1 / SS Brake Lines / CC Mod / Stern Snub / LED License Plate / 18" TSW Vengeance / 20% Tint / DIY Blackout Grill / Black Window Trim / Thule Bike-Ski-Fishing Pole Rack / Full Timing Chain at 68k oh wel...

Re: Complete White LED Interior DIY done yet?

On B7's with colored DIS, you need resistors. For B7's with red DIS, it's a toss-up. (for LED license plates)

OK, here is the list for the interior:

    10 194-type wedge base bulbs

    4 BA9S-type bayonet base bulbs

    2 37/39mm Festoon-type bulbs

    2 42mm Festoon-type bulbs

    __________________________________________________ ______________________

Since the 194's and the BA9S sit sideways in the housings, for maximum lighting, you have to get so-called "right-angled" bulb....

    Here's a good place to get the 194 LED's: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Bul...mZ320308893929)

    Here's a good place to get the BA9S LED's: http://cgi.ebay.com/2pcs-BA9S-T4W-Fl...3286.m63.l1177
