    N00b here...NEED SOME ADVICE!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

Ive been lurking here for a while but finally decided to register and post! Im planning on picking up an 08 RS4 within the next 3-4 weeks and I was just wondering if you guys could help me out with my decision. The 2 cars that im debating between are:

08 Phantom Black/ Audi Exclusive Red Sedan With titanium package

    Or

    08 Ibis White/Black/CF RS4 Cab.

Both are brand new and sitting at the stealership. Im torn between the two because both are extremely rare and look menacing, but at the end of the day, I can only have one lol. In your oppinion, which one would you guys pick? Ive never seen an RS4 cab on the road, but then again its not very often you see an RS4 in the first place.

    Cheers

I know what you mean. Personally, there is no better feeling than sunny so cal weather with the top down, BUT the sedan IS THE proper car.

I'd have to sacrifice for sunny weather in the car for the sedan....Sunroof does just fine imo...

Test drive them both...see which feels more solid and to your liking..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the sedan a bit lighter and obviously have a bit better handling, since there aren't any convertible bells and whistles to deal with...

In essence yes. The reinforcements made to the chassis of the Cab to make it somewhat as rigid as the sedan add quite a bit of weight, not to mention the mechanisms to move the soft top.

The thought of being able to put the top down, throw on a thick sweatshirt and beanie and take a nice drive up to the mountains with the Ass warmers on, with my Favorite Pink Floyd album blasting through the Bose system with a high revving V8, AWD cab sounds appealing to me.

my only worry with the sedan is that the red interior will drive me crazy after a while, especially in a black car with a black headliner.

I really hate the cab cause i personally think its super ugly, but what you just said sounded soooo appealing

If you're not planning to track / autox the car, the cab is the way to go. As much as I enjoy my RS4, I would LOVE to have the RS4 CAB. Top-down driving is priceless and something you can enjoy at any speed. I remembered that when I rode in my buddy's Z4 two days back, and it reminded me of how much I missed my S2000

Just curious what the pricing difference between the Cab/Sedan is, if any?

I'm sure the economy is holding up nicely in the OC...but for the rest of us out here just some food for thought...

    Cab X 2 + 10 !

I try to go everywhere with my top down, and if I get a little cold, warm up the ass and put a little heat on. Little-known fact...you can sing louder with the top down too

I see very few like mine, and I just have a silly S4 cab.

One day, I will upgrade to the RS4 cab.

Until then, I'll just worship you...either way

Convertibles - I don't know - they are nice and all, but I think they look like ass.

A convertible should be limited to a 2 seater :)

Kind of a silly question because it all boils down to personal preference combined with functionality. For me: rs4 sedan>rs4 cab.

Every time I see some guy in a nice convertible it's some middle age guy with a bald spot, a gut, and some bad music playing. My first thought every time is "douchebag". Even if you're not a douchebag, you'll be wearing a douche bag's uniform, errr driving a douche bag's car.

Get the sedan if the above description resembles you even a little!

SEDAN SEDAN SEDAN!! I always lived by the theory that if it was meant to be a convertible, they would've made it like that anyways. The RS4 is a bad a$$ car either way though...

    Re: N00b here...NEED SOME ADVICE!

convertibles suck, rs4 or not. the majority of the time the top will be up, in which case it will look like crap. And, convertibles are frankly not the most masculine cars. If you pulled up at a stoplight against someone, they'd get a chuckle at the idea of an rs4 cab. doesn't help that its white also, despite how nice the ibis is on the sedans. And maybe most importantly, its only got two doors. Sorry if i'm hating on the convertibles a bit too much. I just have an extreme bias against them. Louder (road noise), slower, look worse, more expensive, more things to break, less intimidating, two doors that ruin the lines of the B7 sedan. but who knows. I dont even like moonroofs, so dont listen to me. I think the black RS4 with a red interior will be so sick. I think its the reliable choice.

Is the black '08 coupe being sold at the dealership in Santa Ana? If so, I've seen and driven it. Very nice looking car. I would go with it hands down.

i apologize to cab owners, but it just doesnt work for me...even if it was an RS4. Just something about it which gives me the impression that it is "soft".
