i just called for my first 5k servive i told them i needed a loaner and the service guy said because i didnt buy the car there ,i dont get a loaner audi doesn't pay for it is the dealership ,is this BS or the truth? so when i take the car for something and they have to keep it for a week let;s say im still fu^&$!

I got my 5k done at the dealership I bought it from. They didn't offer me a loaner (nor did I ask), but the service only took about an hour. They did offer me a loaner when the power steering went out two days after I bought it.

It depends on the dealership. I know several places where they wouldn't give you a loaner if you didn't get the car from them. Find another dealer.

I think loaner vehicle is a dealer provided service and not provided by AoA, so calling them may not make a difference. Even if the dealer you bought it from told you that you would get a loaner when in for service, that would only pertain to that dealership.

The two dealerships I've dealt with in the DC area do not offer loaner vehicles unless you purchased the car there, or you are paying for a major service. Then you can try to work a loaner into the deal.

Loaner car programs depend entirely on the dealer, so AoA won't help you. Vote with your feet and find another dealer.

the audi dealership where i live offered a free loaner, but i didn't buy the car from that dealership, and the loaner i got wasn't an audi. service was only going to take about an hour (program a key), but i told them i didn't have time to wait around. there was an enterprise attached to the service department, so i got a dodge charger (V6)

i did pay the 10 or 15 bucks for the warranty. it was raining like crazy, and people around here drive like idiots. i didn't want to take any chances.

orlando classic audi basically has it like this... (whether you bought it there or not)

they have a few loaners but they are usually pre requested and hard to get.. when you schedule a service you can ask what days the loaner car is available and have you service done that day

if the loaner car isnt available, they ALWAYS provide you with a FREE rental car right there on the spot

it depends on the dealership... but you need to learn how to sweet talk... all you have to say is that the other dealership service people are garbage and have heard a lot of great things about the new dealership... and wish you had bought your car there instead... and tell them you plan on bringing your car for all services there, then they willl take you in. HOWEVER... the 5k oil change is a service that SHOULD be done at the dealership you bought your car... they made their money off of you so they will do it... not the other dealership that is not making any money off of you... if they were charging they'd do it, but since the first 5k is free... go back to your original dealership.

also... dealership does not have to give you a loaner... it is NOT mandatory for them to give you a car.

Like Sanjman said, you just have to sweet talk the dealer. My dealership is about 30 minutes away from me. I just told them that being in college, I have a crazy schedule and I can't be waiting for my car for an hour to an hour and a half when I have other things I need to be doing. I ended up getting a nice loaner.

I totally agree...I actually complained to the dealership about that. I also told one of those survey people who call you after you have some kind of repair done at the dealership. I am like even Mercedes will give you a mercedes loaner....wtf...they gave me an Altima loaner!

I traded my last Audi and bought my B7 at my dealer. They had to keep my car overnight and I wanted a loaner, so I asked them if I could take my TT I traded in overnight as the loaner

I think they said they have specific vehicles they loan out, but they all happened to be out so they called Enterprise for me instead. Enterprise over here is only $20/day and you pay for gas, and my dealership ended up paying the $20 to make me happy and give them a good review on the phone survey.

Got a 2007 Nissan Sentra base model. Worst car I've ever driven, didn't even have ABS or traction control and this was during the winter

Our audi dealer always gives loaners for whatever service they are doing. It's always an Audi, but sometimes if they run out they can give you a VW I think, but I don't think that has ever happened.

I've been given used cars overnight before just to try to get me to buy it, so I think they can give you any used/demo car on the lot of they really want to. Probably depends if they think it could sell good if left on the lot, but if you make friends with your salesman they can give you whatever.

That sucks, we always seem to get a different car everytime we go, I think it's part of their business strategy haha. We've had A3, A4, A6, TT, and Q7 at at least one time. And we now have an 2008 TT Roadster because of that new TT they gave us once....

That car is so awesome... I had a mk1 TT before the A4. Such a fun ride, a total panty dropper, but it's just so small. One passenger seat and trunk space for only one wheel made me jump to the opposite end of the spectrum for my next buy

When I took my car in for some warranty issues at my local Audi Dealership (where I purchased my car...in Lexington, KY) I asked for a loaner because I dropped it off before work. They asked me if they could drop me off at work and I was like yeah if you also want to pick me up after work (and I worked on the other side of town). So reluctantly they gave me a loaner...and I had to almost beg for it. Then when I went in for my 35k service I asked and they wouldnt give me one...so I pretty much agree with what everyone else is basically saying...it depends on the dealership

What dealership did you go to? I go to HBL in Tysons and the always give me a loaner and I bought my car at Alexandra VW.

Funny, I bought my A4 from Alexandria VW I go to Audi of Alexandria because it is closer to my work. I've also been to Valley Motors in Annapolis, which is where I bought my allroad.

Yea its basically a dealer controlled policy. They are the ones who determine who gets a loaner vehicle.

Nice! I went to Audi of Alexandria and talked to a SA named Dino when i first bought my car and didn't like the way that they weren't mod friendly so i chose HBL where they won't void your warranty if you have basic mods.
