    USP No Longer Desired?

Have been trying to sell my USP for a few months now...

I understand the economy is in the dumps, but isn't there still a little bit of a premium for the Ultrasports?

I dropped my price down to $19,700 with all the mods. Has to be one of the lowest mileage ones in the country at 23k. I know mods aren't worth that much, but figured an enthusiast would appreciate them.

Audi's really don't hold there value (we all know), but how about on these USP's - at least they're supposedly somewhat rare - two years of production?

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

I sold my "usp" in february...

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t=dgro1&page=3

it took me a couple of months to find any interest, and the person interested was VERY interested, so i was able to get my asking price with little persuasion.

you either need to get lucky and find the buyer who will appreciate your car as much as you do and is willing to pay for some of the modifications you have made (a fraction of what they actually cost you, of course,) or grin and bear the market value you can attain.

honestly, audi's new cars are starting to flood the roads and the usp is 2 generations old. the amount of people willing to spend $20k for a 5 year old, 2-generation old car at this point is likely very, very small, even one with low mileage and in great condition.

remember, $20k is pretty much the low end for b6 s4s now.

    good luck with the sale.

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

Good feedback... what is a more reasonable price? Thing is, the S4's are coming down, but lots of people want to mod the 1.8T and still get over 20 mpg's.

What should I lower the price to? I still owe some money on it and won't take a loss. Maybe start parting?

BTW, I do have the stock USP's - the ADR's are not included.

I was in the same predicament a couple months back. I didn't want to end up owing on a vechicle with value going down constantly. I eventually came to the USP and thought the same thing youd did. Only 2 years of production has gotta be worth a little more right? I'm glad I waited just paid for it in full and I'm going to drive the shit out of it till the wheels fall off!

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

realisticly you should list it around 18 or so, but be prepared to go lower than that. the economy is in the dumps right now, which is whyu i decided to keep my car. :/ it sucks, but if you really want to sell it you have to be prepared to take a hit, as with any car in the current situation.

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

If you want to make the most money part out the mods. Of course, you know this already.

I think most people are very hesitant to buy any car at the moment b/c of the economy, not just Audi's or USP's etc... any car brings a car payment with it. Its a tough market, and I agree that you will need to lower the price a bit more. When I sold my S4 last year I basically listed it only a few hundred dollars over what I expected to sell it for, which helped attract people to see the car in person and once they saw that it was in great condition, I just did not let them negotiate the price down. It was an 2000 S4, listed at 18,400, sold for 17,800. Took about four months IIRC. good luck!

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

I checked the ad in the classifieds section. You're trying to sell the car with 3 sets of wheels? That is definitely pushing the price way too high.

Put the stock USP wheels on, take new pics, and put it up at a price closer to the KBB private party value.

I actually lowered the price and am only including the stock 18" USP wheels.

I'm going to see if there is any interest until the end of the month, then try listing on Autotrader. If that doesn't work, I'll wait until Spring. In the mean time, I'll start parting the car after Turkey Day and keep dropping the price.

Only things I can think of would be: boost gage, injectors, and possibly the exhuast.

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

Rims and price aside, I agree w/comments above... the economy is probably effecting the sale. But, the market is rallying today so maybe [knock on wood] things will improve and you'll be able to move it soon. Side note, I'm still a huge fan of an USP and really wish I would have held out for one. You'll find a buyer sooner or later... a properly priced USP won't sit for too long. Best of luck.

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

I am actively looking for a USP, and I want one pretty badly. Though I have certain criteria, it must be a 1.8T 6speed, I dont want one with injector or turbo upgrades because I want the gas milage, and I'll take any color BUT SILVER. I really would like a white one... but all there is out there is silver, and I dont want that. Anything under $20k is good too... I'm looking for a stock 1.8T 6MT USP... In the mid teens.... I'm certainly interested, I'd actually like to have one ASAP... but it must meet my criteria. Sorry for the lack of interest in the silver... sweet car though!

    Edit: Also must be Quattro

    Re: USP No Longer Desired?

Ive been looking for a USP in the Northeast area. The few ive seen are going between $18.5k to $15.5k with 30k-60k on them. Your car is too far away....

Your car looks great, I would take some new pics with the stock wheels. The mileage is whats going to sell the car.
