    ACDetailing: 2007 GT3RS

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This is the famous Sharwerks Hulk Green 3.8L GT3RS that I was prepping for a photo shoot later this week. The car was in perfect condition, but when they took it to the dealership to get worked on, even after telling the guys specifically not to wash the car, they did, and even put a sign on the steering wheel!! So the car wasn't in terrible shape, but it did need a light polishing to bring back that 1% :).

    Wash

    P&S Citrus Shampoo
    Microfiber Mitts
    Stoners Tarminator

    ACE Powersticks
    P&S Wheel Gel
    Stoners Tarminator
    DIC-20

    Interior

    P&S Interior Cleaner/Protectant

    Glass Polish
    DIC-20 for windows

    Correction

    Gloss-It 1 step machine polish
    FLEX orbital
    Sonex blue pad

    LSP

    Befores

    Tucked in for surgery!:

    Working the polish in:

    The end result!:

    Swirls? Hell no!:

Sharkwerks FTMFW! I used to street race in SoCal with some friends of Alex(owner) and I loved when he would bring down his 996! Low 10's through an automatic, it's badass that he tracked the fuck out of the car too.

Looks very nice BTW, top notch work on a car from a top notch shop!

    Re: ACDetailing: 2007 GT3RS

We work on anything with in reason, of course :).

Compressed air is very likely to cause marring if dirt is caught on the paint (it can happen) as it's blowing over 120psi, where as a leaf blower is a more widespread air, and not so concentrated to make the drying process safer. And no, I don't only dry with a leaf blower, I go over the car with a WW microfiber, and then use the blower to get in the cracks/etc.

As far as the 996. That one was but back to stock and sold. He now has a NEW white 996 Turbo that's a 6mt pushing around 800whp. That thing is no joke. even more beastly than the black one.

So I've heard, has he put out any videos yet in the new car? I miss watching him put the smack down on some heavy hitters.

And a leaf blower puts out a large volume of air, which like you said is a lot safer for paint, whereas compressed air is obviously under a bunch more pressure and more concentrated.

Nah not that I know of. It's currently down with a fuel pump issue, but as soon as he gets it fixed, I'll let you know how the ride is, since he owes me

Funny you say that! I actually detailed that car last weekend! I don't have any pictures of it because they were basically the same car, but I do have some pictures of his 700HP 996tt with TURRRTL in the background ;). They are twins and I detailed both of them for the Eurocar Magazine shoot :).

Those HRE's are made for the track. They're 19s and weigh like less than 18lbs a piece if I remember correctly. But lets be honest, one rotor for that car cost more than the set of HRE's, so I don't think they care if they get a little nick on them ;).

I'm well aware of what the Comp HRE's are ... I have C20's on my car and they are by far NOT a reliable wheel for track (as any HRE's ARE NOT). I just had one of the barrels on my front wheel crack a few weeks ago. And 19x8.5's are 20.2lbs and 19x9.5's are 20.8lbs
