Weekend Fun Track/Mexico 11.8 @ 123 and BMW carnage

Friday night, I met up with Tony at New England Dragway to do some runs and then pick on people during the ride back.

Tonys car was running a pump gas tune with 104 in the tank. Full weight, full exhaust, running some on 18's with cruddy Kumho Ecstas. I apologize for my terrible footage, but you can hear the announcer post the ET/Trap.

Tony ran about 4 or 5 times that night. Consistently trapping 120-123, but in the beginning of the night he was having trouble with his VAST clutch as it didn't seem to want to catch and was only able to cut 2.0 60'.

We then setup a run between a new 335 that had a tune, exhaust, intake, IC pipes. The 335 was running mid 12's at 112 that night. The BMW was nice, but he had no idea what was coming...

Hey Derek thanks for getting the videos up.

As Derek said, I was having some problems launching that night and it was difficult to cut a good 60ft without launching at the RPM I wanted. My opinion is my resurfaced FW isnt making a good conact with the clutch so at high RPM launches the clutch just slips and doesnt hook from WOT 1st to 2nd gear. The car definitely has more in it and if i could have cut a better 60ft time im sure I would of made a mid-low 11 sec pass. I guess ill have to wait till next season.

Yeah the car sounds strong going down the track. The only thing really holding it back is the clutch not grabbing as well as it should. If he can cut a low 1.7 60', I think he has a mid to low 11 second car with full weight/exhaust, on just 104.

I have a couple videos. They aren't that great. You can see the car and all, but the announcer does state his ET/Traps and you can't see the times posted up. I'll load them up on youtube if I still have them.
