    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

    yes, a big difference.

especially if you are going from non sport to the rs4 rear sway. lots of threads about this mod, and they are all correct. a great bang for buck mod for our cars.

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

Here's my install and impressions... overall, it's been a fantastic addition to the sport suspension. Some prefer to replace both the front and rear using the H-Sport package while others like just the addition of the RS4 bar. Either way, it's a win.

It's pretty easy. With the right tools and a little patience, you'll be fine. Just don't forget the blue locktite.

it will make a nice differnce for a stock sport car. takes 30 min to install with basic tools. you need a set of ramps to make the install easier.

Yup, should be around that... unless your dealer is gouging. Part numbers are at the end of my install or you can buy the entire kit from ECS here:

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

a lot of people recomend getting the larger rs4 bushings, you can reuse the old ones but it is a larger bar 18mm to 22mm (i think) so it will need effort to fit

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

the only "drawback" i had was trying to get the old sway out once it was unbolted. it was kinda tricky finding the right angle/direction it had to come out cause its sitting right above the exhaust.

Are the bolts that you listed at the end of DIY really necessary?

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

Well, I bought them as part of a 'kit' from ECS but listed them for those who were looking for the part numbers themselves. Not mission critical but figured I should include the info anyway.

it comes with new bushings its the brackets that are a pain in the ass and you might consider buying the rs4 ones just to save you 10 min

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

if your going to do it, get the bushings, i got em from the dealer for $20 with 4 new bolts(old ones were a lil rusted) and let it took half the time (and aggravation) with the correct size brackets

don't forget to use ALOT of lube it also makes things alot easier!

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

ok, but do i specify which year for the bar when I go to the dealer to buy the part or does it not matter? The dealerships in my area all want around $140 for the bar which is about the same price as on ecstuning.

    Re: Rs4 rear sway question

when you install it, def get the RS4 brackets....makes the job that much easier. After installing mine, the front end feels pretty loose. Anybody else's like that? I'm thinking it's because of tightening the rear end up.
