If its got 60-70k miles and it only costs 8000 or even less? The price is low because it would be from a dealer auction.

i would want info on the car, but that's a pretty good deal, as long as the turbos are in good shape it would probably sell for 10-12

FWIW I bought mine 3 months ago for 11, and then added a 1900$ bumper to bumper warranty - car had 71k original miles, single owner - no maintenance record though....

I'm looking for a warranty. Which one do you have?

Oh, and the car could be a good deal, but keep $2k around to fix up unforseen issues, delayed maintenance, etc. Most cars of this age n eed timing belt/water pump service, which can be $1,500.

I bought it through a dealership - Had a buddy of mine buy the car, and then I bought it from his dealership so I could get a warranty and better financing.... Don't remember wh othe warranty is through but it's a ford motor warranty company - good at any ASE certified mechanic or dealership... it wasn't cheap for the S4 but it is bumper to bumper for 2yrs/36k miles... which would get me through any rough spot I may have is my guess...

I can sell you a warranty for $540. I do not have a particular S4 in mind but if I can sell the A4 then I will start the hunt! My idea is first look for a month or 2 till I find one that just seems to be perfect and the right miles for the right money. I also think I would sell myself a warranty for the car lol because that could save me a lot of money. Good news is I can do any work myself too. Now I just got to thinking if they can sell me a warranty if I do the work myself does that mean I get payed for installing my new turbo's that the warranty just payed for? LOL I am guessing that wouldn't work. Anyways what should I be looking for when I look at one of these? What can I do w/o having it on a lift but just test driving it at the auction? Any way to check a turbo besides seeing if it makes boost? I did find an S4 for 3-5k with 160k miles but I don't want to buy something that high miles too many problems.

Bounce up and down on the suspension. If you get creaks and groans, the car needs control arms for about $1,000.

Look inside the wheels. If there's a lot of extra dirt/dried grease, there's at least a bad cv boot.

All of the driver info displays have missing lines/pixels. It costs $1,000 for a new one. Some forum members are working on fixing them.

The central locking system is pneumatic. It should lock all the doors, gas cap, and trunk. Problems with the system are a PITA to track down.
