FWD and Quattro Tiptronic Tranny Difference ??

Hi guys....i've do some search and i've read some post saying the tranny on a FWD is different and weeker than a Quattro.....Is that true ??

Reason of asking because i plan to do a BT upgrade but don't know if my FWD Tip tranny will hold it or not....If my tranny is same as the Quattro than i'll do a Eliminator kit but if not than i'll need some suggestions

Mine is a 2000 1.8T Avant.....Euro-spec so it has a AWT engine

So my only option is to chip it ?? Since i've never saw anyone with FWD Tip runs a K04 or even Eliminator kit.....i guess the FWD tranny just can't hold it ??

Might want to look at passats, there should be plenty FWD/tips running turbos larger then a K03.


AWT or did you mean ATW engine?
