Pictures of your After-market Head units and dash kits (searched?)

im kind of curious to see what some of the dash kits offered for smaller head-units look like. i definitely dont want that cheesy textured plastic sticking around too long, so i was thinking worst case scenerio, sand it and paint it flat black to match the rest of the center console. pictures?

Single DIN with Sony GT500 headunit.
I painted the surrounding bezel/cover and left the "cheesy" textured black plastic the way it was. Since the belt trim, bezel and CD trim are the same color I wanted the contrast between the pieces.

I'll take a picture of mine when i get a chance tomorrow, I sanded and flat blacked mine. Matches the rest of the black plastic on the dash perfectly and doesn't have that texture to it

how bendy is that carbon fiber sticker thing? I assume that is what it is and not an actual overlay...

its actually a vinyl type of thing, kinda hard to explain. ive got alot of extra i could send a square..... its perfect for this instance, but doesnt do so well around tight curved corners...

Edit...actually now that I think about it...I want to do my exterior of the b pillars too so I might just have to order some....hmmm what else could i cover in this stuff hahahha

also: looks like the same guys sell it on ebay for way less than their website. 24 x 60" sheet for about 45 bucks shipped

I've been curious about switching out my head-unit. I think if I do sometime I'll look for a double din, however is there a reason not to? It seems like filling the space up would look better.

I built mine flush with the rest of it. PVC epoxy'd a filler piece and went over it with glazing putty, it looks ok in the flash but you cant see the hairline when your in the car. Overall im happy, came out clean.



I cant believe some of you guys with double din didnt go with a double din stereo...
