    boost leak test - results

I just ran a boost leak test. How long is the air supposed to stay in the system? I released the air, walked over to my boost gauge and noticed it went from about 11 or 12 slowly back down to 0 - probably took a few seconds.

The only air I heard escaping was around the area in the middle of this picture. When I put my hand over that valve(?) the air sound would change. I couldn't pinpoint which of those hoses (if any) were the culprit. It wasn't a huge rush of air - just a light hiss.

I knew you were going to write that! When someone just gets an A4 and asks what to do first, some say "clear corner," you say "take all that shit out!"

I got an anonymous tip to check the suction jet pump for separation, but that pump seems solid. I wiggled it around. That check valve right above the suction jet pump does have a little crack at the seam where it's pressed together.

Like an idiot, I put everything back together before spraying some soapy water on the area. I got hungry and went to get something to eat for the Gamecocks game.

Going to run the test again later. How long is the air supposed to stay in the system?

I followed Martini's writeup from a4mods.com. The only difference was the location of the check valve on the PCV return line. Mine is back near the firewall, but I still disconnected the line at the TIP and plugged it there.
