    Coolant Sensor Replacement -

    Friends,

Just completed changing coolant temperature sensor on my own. Thanks for all the information and help. You guys rock.
    I also used this link:
    http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng66.shtml

    Few lessons learnt:
    - Make sure coolant cap is tight
    - Be patient, it takes a while to get the clip off and then back again.
    - Always put O-ring in the tube instead of on the sensor (lost one)

I lost some coolant, guess I forgot to tighten the cap after relieving pressure.
Which coolant should I use to top up the coolant tank?

    Thanks

the coolant that is distilled water.

you can have 30% coolant and 70% distilled water and still be perfectly fine. If you lost just a little, top it off with distilled water.

otherwise, buy some g12 (it's pink).. or if yours is purple, i believe that is g12+.

Hey... that greeting - are you John McCain?

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.

Wolfdog, ha ha ha.....no I am not McCain.

After changing the sensor, I still have CEL. Is anything wrong? or its just a CEL, how can I delete the code?
