How easy is it to rebuild KO3's and how much?

I think I might be the only one interested in this lol... Is it just like KO4's where you have to send them out to get rebuilt? Or can you just buy a new CHRA and put it in yourself? I figure yes for both of these questions, but have to double check because I've never once heard of people rebuilding KO3's only KO4's. If you can rebuild them yoursefl does anyone know where to buy the CHRA? I bought KO4's and had them rebuilt and have everything minus the software for stage 3, but I've come to realize I'm pretty satisfied with my stage 2+ and would like to avoid going stage 3 if possible.

I'd like to get my hands on a set of KO3 and rebuild them so when mine blow I have a fresh set ready to go. Then my ultimate goal is to be able to do my own turbo swap and stay where I'm at rather than piss money away going stage 3. Before I sell my KO4's I want to look and see what it's really going to take and if I could actually do it all myself.

    TIA

I checked on Ebay a while ago and the cost of CHRA's for K03 (if you can find them) were not that much off ($100-$200 each IIRC). The process should be the same for both. If you are swapping CHRA's then you can do it at home. If you get a bearing kit then you should send the CHRA to a shop after you install the bearing kit to get it rebalanced.

Thanks, but I'm still undecided and I won't be getting rid of them until that times comes.

i just changed out my chras on my k04s today, i was going to send them out to be done but it looked easy enough. Im glad i didnt send them out now cause swaping the chras was cake. the hardest part was unbolting the 10mm bolts off the exhaust housing, very tight and the wrenches slip, i landed up using a 3/8 wrench and worked like a charm. Just make sure you mark the orientation.
