Got some S4 wheels. FO FREE

This kid with a TT traded his fat 5s for these S4 wheels.. but they looked bad on his car (could have been because they had a really shitty black spray job) so I talked him into doing an even trade for my stock sport wheels. They actually look pretty good on his car.

Spent all day working on wheels -- painted the a4 wheels gloss black. I then painted the s4 wheels $25 a can House of Kolor gunmetal. I had this color on the a4 wheels before but the s4's look so much better.

They're OEM -- some curbage, but the face is perfect and hell they were free. Tires have slightly more life than mine did also. I can live with it

Yeah I'm exhausted so I might not make sense.. but it "feels" free for me because I was going to buy these wheels anyway. So what if I gave up my current wheels. These have Toyo Proxies too.

So, they were on a TT? The TT bolt pattern is 5x100 and ours is 5x112. I'm confused as to how these fit on a TT if the S4 also uses a 5x112 pattern.

also, for the curb rash, you should have/could have, gotten some glazing compound and filled it in and sanded it... then painted and presto! no more curb rash

$500 for a set of 18's is expensive? that seems extremely cheap. I guess it's all in perspective though.


congrats to the op. I got the same wheels, not "free" but for pretty cheap. thinking of throwing them on for winter wheels as they also have rash like yours. whats with s4 drivers kissing curbs?

^^cheap, but pricey with a set of wheels so basically that is cost. I think $500 for tires is pricey.

Not yet.. mostly because the car was dirty as fuck but I washed it today. Also because I don't have the center caps yet (have to order them since he didn't have them)

x3 to that being cheap. cheap is 40 bucks a tire... but that's for 185/50/14 kinda sizes... in brands you've probably never heard of. 9 times out of 10 a cheap tire won't even be labeled on the sidewall... it'll just say something like "steel belted radial" lol.

OP - those wheels look good. if you've got some paint left over i'd definitely go back and grind out the rash, fill it with some bondo or glaze of some type, then hit it with some more primer/paint. it'll be worth it to have brand new looking wheels.

and to be honest, that paint doesn't look like it was worth 25 bucks a can in the pictures... i guess maybe in person it's better.

I've ridden on some CHEAP ASS tires before on my beater chevy cavalier.....4 for $100 installed

Those tire wore at uneven rates and just sucked, lol, but I would buy them again......gotta love having a beater

LOL my bad... that's okay I'm going to Audi o' Wallingford in a few hours to grab a set of center caps. I know I gotta get coilovers.. I'm just too damn cheap. I'll get them soon.

Yeah that was hollowpoint-- the show sucked ass. Our club brought like 20 cars so we ended up leaving and just cruising the state, went to devil's hopyard for awhile.
