    Modding the front bumper

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Was wondering... has anyone ever molded the OEM lower and upper bumpers and cutting out larger vents? sort of like the crappy paint pic i made... might be a much cheaper way to get that s4/rs4 look... and it wont look wierd without sideskirts... just thinking out loud

the only problem with that picture is you'd be cutting exactly where the bottom half of the bumper clips to the top, so you'd have to create some kind of support all over again to prevent it from falling off since that's the only way it stays on.

I think hes talking about molding the lower. there wouldn't have to be clips there. He could easily make some supports if needed to the sides and inbetween.

    Re: Modding the front bumper

yeah, i'd be molding the lower lip to the bumper (it would turn into one piece)..... no supports needed, and then maybe throwing on some sort of splitter or something, who knows... i want to see those pics though :)

    Re: Modding the front bumper

if you mold the lower to the bumper It could look good....

I have seen a few apps similar to this one...but none of them looked quite right...

I remember, there was a guy on here a while back who molded one and had it all prepped for paint and then he quit and sold it....

"that guy" is stating his opinion, and happens to be a respected member of the AZ community. unlike you who has one ring and no clue.

but to answer mike's question i'm pretty sure he kept the middle bar for support of the lower trim. even though i guess he could've went the other way and left the side bars for support and chopped the middle. either way looks much cleaner than stock, just needs some rs4 mesh with fogs and he's golden.

LOL. What are you 12? Your the only one looking like a dbag, seeing that I was just giving my honest opinion.

I never said it looked worse then stock, I said it looked funny and thats because all its doing is showing the the IC pipes.

Damn maybe I should go back to a stock bumper instead of sporting a modified S4 bumper.

    hahahaha, what was flynnr thinking!!

but as i was scrolling down mike, i thought the same thing. i was wondering why the ic pipes were exposed so much. don't care for the larger fmic opening, but i wouldn't have make the side vents that big.

That front ^ has a little too much going on for my taste. You should try painting the IC hangers, you can see them threw the grill i little bit. Just an idea.

the mesh is just expanded mesh from home depot, dremeled to shape and then plastidipped black, then black door trim from pepboys around the edges.
