    Here's my '85! Vogtland lowering springs is the only mod so far. Drive it 60 miles a day to and from work!!! I don't have any good pics, this is pretty much it.

    dude big booost.. there's an avant GT in my town.. basically looks like this blue one only with 4 doors and the wagon form. white, t3/t4 turbo, puts down 310ish whp i believe. it was for sale a while back. pretty sick.. gotta lvoe those

    I didn't know Audi made an Avant in this body style. I jumped the gun and should have found one. Too late now. I've got my 034EFI Motorsport engine and trans mounts installed now and I'm never doing that ish again. The Coupe GT FTW.

    the avant style coupe/4000 is extremly rare beyond beleif. ive heard about them but never seen any actual pictures... but i guess they do exist according to jung...

    i swear to god it's that body style.. it was for sale on Autotrader last spring, I'll see if i can find pictures of it.

    Edit: upon searching autotrader, i couldnt locate it. I konw as of July he hadnt sold it, because i saw him driving it. loud as fuck too.. but anyways, I could've sworn that it was 4 doors. I could be completely wrong on it too, because it did look like a '90 200 Avant. It had the Audi 4 rings on the front doors under the black strip on them. shit theres a 96.7% chance that I'm wrong on it being a gt avant haha, because just google searching now was unproductive for me.

    All that I know is that ive seen a random video on youtube with one in it. it was a low quality video and it was only a few seconds long but you could tell it was like a 4000 avant...
    I have yet to find one on google or anywhere else though.
    maybe he custom did it??....??

    I originally bought most of these parts for a 1987 Audi 5000 CS Quattro that I used to have. I had nothing but problems with that car so I junked it. I bought an S4 and none of these parts were applicable for the B5. I held on to them, bought the Coupe GT a short while ago, and the project continues minus AWD. The car was sitting for awhile so I need to replace ALL of the braking system including calipers and rear lines. I am going to buy the 034 turbo manifold and use the factory Audi wastegate above. 034 will also provide the fuel rail and mounting system. I also have two spare intercooler cores to choose from, but so so little space in front it will have to be the smaller of the two. I am thinking I will use the Megasquirt fuel management system with 60lb injectors. I have front and rear bumpers that are in much better shape that will be installed. The time frame is to have it complete by late Spring.

    Thanks. Hey, it's very easy when you are a turbo parts whore. The MC engine should be here late next week. It won't be truly epic until I can get it running 6 months from now....

    Here are some pix of the 034 Motorsport spec motor engine mounts. In a sentence, they are ROCK HARD. All kinds of shit is loose in the car now. These are not for your wife or girlfriend to ride with you. She will cut you off for two weeks because you gave her an involuntary hysterectomy. I knew I needed these, I just didn't realize how brutal they are. The trans does shift more smoothly though and the drivetrain will NOT have any deflection. I still need to get the snub mount to totally lock down the drivetrain. For a regular DD, the track density or street density is what you should purchase.

    alright well since you have personal experience with them. Would you reccomend them for....."offroad" use? or are they just that uncomfortable that if you hit a rock it would be like hitting a wall..?? or something like that?

    I would only purchase these if you are building an all out race car. For street use, the 034 track density would be perfect. Believe me, the whole car shakes with the Motorsport spec mounts, but the drivetrain does not move. Your suspension has more to do with how the car handles bumps in the road, but when idling/accelerating/decelerating you will notice the difference with the mounts.

    well I figured when you hit a bump it would be more rough with the motorsport spec ones just because the motor doesnt move a bit. I figured with the original mounts the motor can move back and fourth a little bit making it less rough. or something like that....

    Update.

    The suspension listed up top should be installed by this weekend. I have a feeling that I will switch over to a coilover set up by Spring. Anyway, I called 034 Motorsport and talked to the I5 engine guru. He told me that the 20V should bolt up to the KX engine. I am searching for a 20V head right now, especially now that the MC engine I was SUPPOSED to receive was involved in an engine fire and it wasn't disclosed to me, so I refused it. Everything happens for a reason. A 20V crossflow head would be more beneficial anyway in trying to reach 450+ HP.

    I just picked it up in september for cheap

    Nothing done to it yet, Working on getting it back to good running Original order first.

    Need:
    Tune up
    Radio-it has none
    Ignition lock-really sticky, key is very difficult to get in/out
    sunroof needs fixed-makes lotsa noise when on interstate. Doesnt leak though.

    I finally have the car street worthy and drove it to work yesterday. The springs lowered the car exactly as mentioned, however it still sits pretty high. It wasn't the effect I was looking for. 2Bennett makes a set of coil overs that I should have purchased in the first place. I'll also sneak in some Koni Sports between now and Spring time. It was cool seeing her on the streets after the PO let the car sit for over 5 years. My goal is to have the chassis, suspension and braking worked out first before I go any further with the turbo conversion. Safety before speed.

    I would be glad to sell them to you, but I would recommend purchasing the Vogtlands or the B&G's. I ended up with the H&R's on the front only. I couldn't sell you something that isn't going to work for you. I have to eat this purchase. Thanks for the offer though.

    I ordered the MegaSquirt-I Programmable EFI System PCB3.0 kit today. I am going with 95lb injectors to meet my HP goals. I'm still in the process of searching for a 20v head. This project due date is getting pushed back until summer now. I have also found a source for coilovers. If it works, I'll share the info here.

    The guy at 034 told me everything I need. I need the pistons and rods from a 3B engine otherwise compression would be 6.5:1 or lower. I'm getting forged rods and pistons anyway so that will be a non factor. I may need to have the head machined too for a water passage. The KX engine has larger main bearings than the MC, so I will purchase replacements. I will also need an intake manifold and turbo manifold from 034. I been stashing parts since late last year. After talking to 034, he didn't understand why more people didn't use the KX engine for swaps. I know that the 2.3 is more desireable, but if you're building an engine anyway, with the interchangeability of the I5 parts, you can build a nasty high revving 2.3 engine.

    big boost, do you have the rear disc conversion done on your car? Judging by the pictures you dont have a special build which would suggest you have the drums. I just ran into a spare rear end for an 87 CGT if your interested in one.

    Tonight I started building the MegaSquirt stand alone ECU. Everything is well laid out as far as packaging is concerned. I have never soldered on a PCB before, but I did read the MegaSquirt info at least twice to make sure I understood the assembly and tuning process. It's very slow and tedious, but it is cool that I am building my ECU.

    I am done with the power supply construction of the MS system. I will work on the serial comm and clock circuit construction this morning.

    VW did make a Quantum Syncro, which is basically a wagon version of a 4kq, which is a type 85 same as a CGT...

    Megasquirt update.

    I started unpacking everything Saturday evening and noticed that everything is so well documented. The resistors, diodes, capacitors, transistors, etc. are labeled and organized for you. You have to go to www.megainfo.com and download the instructions, but everything else is there for you. I was pretty damn scared to do this, but I organized everything bought the right tools and sat down and got busy.

    This is what I accomplished after 5 hours.



    The online manual stated that an "average person with average skills" should have this assembled in 5 to 8 hours. Yeah right. You need a pinpoint soldering iron with a 4X magnifying glass and patience so you don't solder over another joint. I soldered at least 150 joints in the first 5 hours. Those 2 large connectors have at least 39 pins each! The instructions have you work in different quadrants of the PCB to install the various functions. My eyes were killing me so I stopped. I picked up Sunday morning for about another 3 hours and it ended up looking like this.



    I still have about another 1-2 hours before it is finished. I would say be prepared to spend at least 8-10 hours if you never soldered anything this intricate before.

    Honestly, the next time I buy a MS system, I am going to buy the assembled kit and just install the appropriate software. For an extra $140 or so, it's worth the time saved. I will say that this is very cool to learn and that I'm doing it myself, but the time is money and I don't have a lot of it. Anyway, I'll post it after it's assembled and fully tested.

    Update. I put the car up for sale, but after negotiations with the wife, I'm keeping it. I have stuck a little too much $ in it just to flip it. I still have all of the turbo components for it, so it will just take a little longer for me to get down and dirty with it. I recently got my S4 back so that will take precedence over the GT. It's still going down but just not as fast. 034 and I will be good friends soon enough.
