    Cam Locking Tool

    is a cam locking tool really necessary to do the timing belt change ? or can i rig it?

    anybody recently do theirs and want to rent their tool out to me?

    If it's your first time..you most certainly want it...It's 100 dollars at el paso tools, try ebay.

    You can get away without, you just have to be careful. Mark everything up properly and you will be fine. You can also make a cam lock bar for about $15 at Home Depot.

    try posting in local forms, you man get a hold of a person who has one to use/barrow

    i would also search vortex, as the 2.8 passat guys use this tool as well.

    I thought they were exactly the same. The cam-lock bar is adjustable IIRC. They are the same part number as well.

    btw saw a vr6 s364 run...it was a beast.
