    Re: problems problems problems

    These things happen mate. My best advice is find a good independent like everyone else said. I have smaller stuff done at independents, and larger stuff at the dealership. So far this has really been useless, as the dealership so far has blown 2 of the 3 jobs I've given it to them for.

    I'm driving an Ultrasport from hell as well. Heres my failures from 58k at purchase to 73k today, approximately 1yr;

    4 or 5 Blown Coils (To Be Expected if you havent yet had one...)
    Bent Coolant Flanges (Dealership felt bad for me and took care of it...)

    Failed Fuel Pump (400~)

    Failed Engine Speed Sensor (300~, Dealership also bent an exhaust pipe such that it split open. Wouldn't admit fault, gave up and paid 100~ to have the joint welded back. Also had a snapped muffler hanger, another 25~ to reweld.)

    Failed ABS controller (500~!)

    Failed Brake Acceleration Sensor (160~)

    Failed Taillight Relay (150~)

    Detached Airbag wires under both Seats (70~/seat, Dont move yours too far back or it'll happen to you!)

    Failed Timing Belt job (800~ to have it done, which I don't begrudge, thats scheduled maintenance. What I do begrudge is that they did not install a new water pump, nor any of the extraneous stuff they claimed they did aside from the belt and tensioner. This took multiple stealership visits, calls to AOA, and headaches beyond headaches to get them to admit they screwed up.)

    Failed Moonroof (Fixed itself somehow, but for over a month just bound up in its tracks, would make noises like plastic breaking if use was attempted).
    Most Recently;

    Failed Catalytic Converters (To be fixed (by the same dealership that blew my TB job and Bent my Exhaust) under the Federal Emission Control warranty).

    I haven't even had anything really major fail, but the car is definitely an attention whore. I've kind of gotten used to this, which is pretty useful considering that my service intervals have been more frequent than a Ferrari 599's recommended intervals.

    But yes, just expect this sort of thing and life will be much easier.

    Are you all the original owners of your cars. It's sad to see this. My failures in 100K miles, fuel filter, and two coilpacks. Less than $100 for all three

    What the hell do you people do to your cars? In the 2 1/2 years and 45k miles I've had my car I've had 1 coilpack go out and the coolant sensor died... and that's it.

    Re: problems problems problems

    i'm with Derrick here, at 50K miles i've replaced one coil pack because i chipped the car, and two window motors broke at the same time but that was under warranty.

    another important point is to never purchase a lease return. god only knows what was done to the car during that time period. i have a buddy who only leases and beats the piss out of each car...i pity the fool who purchases them afterward!

    The only problems that I've had so far are the MAF sensor going out, and a few vacuum leaks.
    I cringe at all of the other problems that are to be expected.

    jesus CHRIST you people have been getting ripped off!

    hood strut??? 100 bucks???????????????? mother of god dude... cats 3 grand??? hell no! after market highflows wouldn't be HALF that much (im assuming you're a 3.0)

    A/C compressor i understand because it's a dealer only part unless you get a used one (which may or may not be just as likely to fail as your last one).... but your oil pump??? that seems fishy. did you lose oil pressure? are they checking everything else out? a lot of shit can get messed up by that, and i've never heard of the pump just failing on its own.. do you have a sludge issue?
