I am going to purchase 2 magnaflow 14851 mufflers for my 2005 S4. i have a shop that wil custom make pipes for me to fit my car. My question is this do i need to buy magnaflow cat's too ?? X-pipe ??? or just have the do piping from the cat back on the car ??? please let me know what would be the best idea and sound the best on the car. I just purchased the car last month and am new to the audi game. I came from the big turbo VW gti world and would like some insight from people who have knowledge on these big V8's

    thanks in advance.

Do a 2.25" piping from the cat back to the rear. You won't need cats but might want some small resonators.

I'm new here as well and have a question. Most cars have an 02 sensor after the cat, do these cars have them there as well? If they do, and he pulls the cats won't it trigger the CEL?

All he would need is a bung to fit the sensor back on and an adaptor / mechanical CEL defeat. That would eliminate any CEL.

you wont change the cats on just a catback system.
Just buy a h or x pipe and take the 2 magnaflow mufflers and have them use 2 1/4 tubing from rear converters back
