My B5 gets exhausted

Well my exhaust arrived yesterday and today shes goin in to get a custom 3'' back.

Yeah yeah i know its over kill for the ko3 but seriously id rather do my exhaust once instead of spending twice. Im stoked and cant wait. Ill post pics when i get them.

I see one inlet and one outlet on that muffler...

Also a dual tip is pretty standard on euro cars.. Whats the big deal as long as its not a 5" chrome tip like the ricers.

3" exhaust is going to be pretty healthy, I hope you have a resonator in there(ie 2 magnaflow mufflers...).. or its going to drone like a mofo.

Honestly I wouldnt.

You need that resonator in there. You will have a stronger smoother sound that is just as loud at WOT with the resonator in there. But you will be able to stand yourself on the highway.

I went from no resonator to resonator in my 2.25 exhaust w/ testpipe (borla mufflers w/ stage 3 APR kit) and WOT sounds freeking amazing, but around town its got a nice sound that doesnt attract cops. (however your in canada... I dont know the laws there..)

Personally, I would have the resonator.. OR Add a 3" cutout after the resonator. This way you can get that loud sound when you want to go to a meet or a track day or just a weekend jaunt.

I had one on my K03 and used it all the time at track days... Loved it!

If you have a gutted cat, dont worry about it.. Seriously.
Not going to make much of a difference. Keep in mind though, If you go with a bigger turbo and better manifold your exhaust will get louder...


That was the reason I had to put the resonator back on.. It was too loud. (It still sounds like a bat outa hell on WOT..)

Won't 3in exhaust cause boost creep? Not to familiar with k03 turbo.....

When I had my cutout open (no muffler just cat) on my K03 it would actually spool a little later and held boost a little better, Reverse what it actually should be but it was so small of a difference that most people wouldnt notice.

so i had some troubles today at the exhaust shop. Had to go 2.5'' from just past the RES, I will have to wait to get the rest done once i have a down pipe. Plus there was not enough time.

All in all the exhaust sounds sick. Ill have some clips up soon.

(whats your set-up? ) magnaflow muffler... do you have resonator in there or ? or down pipe or test pipe or whatever? i didnt really understand what you ended up going with all said and done the posts were tough to follow for me i got lost

I went with the removal of the stock muffler and resonator, Hollowed out cat.

stock everything up to the middle of the car, then it goes 2.5 back with 3'' adapter to get the muffler on.

It was 2 hard to bend 3'' pipe into an S. So i guess now i need to buy a magnaflow resonator.

and am going to run 2.5" back from the flex pipe.... i have stock cat and everything... do you think i am going to drone a TON on the highway?? i wont mind a little, but i wantto be able to have easy conversations in my car without getting headaches...

Do what i did hack it all off, do it then if its 2 much for ya get a magnaflow resonator
