dealer, quoted me $53 and $80. i went looking awhile back since i want to replace the two parts you mentioned with black ones rather then the beige i have now. that way it should match with the radio/climate controls. just going to paint mine first, if i don't like the way it comes out then i'm going to get the OEM black parts.

i've seen a few hit the classifieds too if you don't want to get them from a dealer, but they don't come around all to often.

if you get around to getting the parts and replacing them i would be interested to know how hard it was to remove the part around the shifter (not the silver part but the base) and how you went about doing it. good luck!

looks like the gearbox part you want (#13 in the blow-up) is called a "Retainer plate" (direct links to the parts are below the blow-up):

don't know about the OP, but if you have both parts in black for a good price i'll take them off your hands, if that's what you are eluding to.......
i'm assuming that the retainer plate for a manual 5 speed, manual 6 speed and a tiptronic (tip and cvt are the same part number) are different since they are different part numbers on the genuinevwaudiparts.

Thats why you buy from Genuine Audi, also known as Miramar Audi. My local dealership has something like a 210% mark-up on parts.............

You could paint it like I did. I had flat black that came with the car.
I painted it to piano black finish like the paint.

Came out pretty nicely.

OK, its part #13 and #11 but they are both silver-like on my car. Thats what I need. For #13, I have an automatic with Tip-Tronic.

Lastly, are they the same on a 2002 and 2003?

I got the Headlight switch, it looks almost like brand-new. The rest were more abused than I ever thought. There is an 2002 A4 totaled there if you need anything though. Black interior/exterior. Poor car, both front airbags were out.

silver-like i'm guessing is one of these two:

Gray - Auto trans W/cvt & 5 speed auto trans - Auto trans W/cvt & 5 speed auto trans

Platinum - Auto trans W/cvt & 5 speed auto trans - Auto trans W/cvt & 5 speed auto trans

the part will fit in anything from 02-05

What about xenon? Trying to get my hands on some without paying too much. A lot of spending is coming up in the next few months.

that ESP button threw me for a loop, i've come to think that they come from the factory with the paint all bubbled up and it was sposta be that way, lol !

and why did you remove the cup holder when you could have just pulled those three blanks and kept the cup holder? i have a tray where those blanks are, i was going to install a turbo timer there rather then the cup holder. so i'm not questioning your methods, just wondering why you chose that local over the one that wasn't being used before i do this.

I think they are speaking of the aluminum bars around the shifter opening and along the front of the ashtray cover.
