    Best settings for a Nikon D40

    So I want to take some good pics of my A4. I have a Nikon D40 but, have no idea what i should set it to if i wanted to use a sunrise or sunset backdrop. Can anyone help me?

    best mode to set it to is - PRACTICE

    photo's are 90% the person behind the camera, than the camera itself.

    I agree with the above comments. Go out there, put the camera into manual mode (yes...even the focus) Basically you have ISO, Shutter, and Aperature. Play with the settings and see what works best.

    DSLR's are inimidating at first but you get used to them quick.

    here are some basic tips:
    1.) If you are going to have a long shutter then use a trip pod
    2.) Read online about DOF (depth of field) and the exposure triangle
    3.) play with all the settings on your camera and read the manual
    4.) Go out and practice.


    If you are going to shoot duing a sunset, make your back is to the sun, otherwise your car will be a silloutte.

    I coud go on but you get the idea.
